A decade
1990 We adopted Brandy (doggie), and I lost my beloved Whiskey (kitty) to the RB. I also thought lycra bikepants were really cool.
1991 We adopted Soda and lost her to the RB the same year. We adopted Cola, who had many adventures as a kitten such as following us to school and once she got lost and we took home the wrong cat!
1992 Mum and my ex-stepdad got married. He is nice, but the StepSisters from Hell were not. Cola had kittens and we kept one, naming her Tequila. Note the pattern here? Boozers that we were. Well, I was too young to drink in 1992, but I made up for it in later years
1993 I didn't do much except pass primary school. Barely.
1994 I became a baaaad girl, drinking, smoking, shop lifting and eventually running away from home. I only returned home because my friend chickened out. Just for good measure, I failed my Maths test on my birthday, met my first boyfriend Clay, and turned thirteen. Ugh, why oh why did I wear flannies and red jeans three sizes too big?
1995 Mum decided to send me to a strict, Christian school to help me mend my ways. I still don't know why to this day, but I just stopped talking to Clay and we drifted apart. At school, immediately began to do well, and as a reward, we adopted Milo (kitty).
1996 Mum and Kerry split.
1997 Whiskey (kitty, second of that name) was born in my bedroom cupboard while I was doing my Math homework. She almost fell out, save for the umbilical cord! I thought overalls were the epitome of high fashion.
1998 I began Grade 11 with much trepidation, but loved it as it was my first public school exposure since 1994. We had no uniforms, addressed teachers by their first names, and it was within a 1km radius of a shopping center and all the fast food joints you can imagine.
1999 I finished high school in the top 2 percent of the state. I also turned 18, which is the legal age of adulthood in this country. I celebrated by becoming intoxicated on many, many occasions. Especially New Year's Eve.
:)
Those were the UNEVENTFUL years....the "naughties" brought some rather drastic changes to my life!
