My name is Souraya (like Mariah with an "s") and I am 23. I have been married to Andrew, an Army pilot, for 2 years. We are currently stationed at Ft. Rucker, AL. I am a network administrator and programmer. Andrew and I are owned by one GSD/Wolf hybrid, Drake. In addition to my job, I volunteer at the local animal shelter, coach a rowing crew, and mentor teenage girls with eating disorders!

I'm Alyson, 24 yrs old, live in Austin, TX.
As most of you know, I have 2 dogs, a cat, some fishies, and a foster dog who doesn't look like she's going anywhere anytime soon. I also have 2 foster kittens at the moment.
My life pretty much consists of working with animals and finishing school. I work at the Central Texas SPCA and volunteer at the Austin Humane Society, both no-kill shelters. I also do a lot of fostering, transports, temp testing, behavioral modification, etc etc. I have been doing internships with several trainers in my area. I co-teach an obedience class with one of my trainer friends and its a lot of fun. In the fall, I will be starting my own class also! I'm excited.
My dream is to open my own shelter. I want it to be huge and concentrating on the comfort levels and stress reduction of the animals. I also want to have an obedience part of it where I offer classes to the public and also take shelter animals through. And I think a neat idea would be to have a therapy part where I can put the most well behaved animals and have under privilaged kids who can't have their own pets come interact with them.

I'm probably one of the oldest on PT. I was born 6 months before Pearl Harbor was attacked. I have a daughter who is 38 and a granddaughter who is 7 1/2. We are all single.
I work as an office manager for a small distributor of neon sign supplies in West Columbia, South Carolina.
I have 4 dogs: Samson, 12--male Shepherd mix
Bella, 5--female black Chow-lab mix
Scruffy, 11--white Bearded Collie-terrier mix
Bear (Ted E.), 12--Shih Tsu-Poodle mix
I also have 7 cats, all former strays:

I like to spend my spare time (????) reading and doing home repairs and renovations.
When I retire I want to open a you-do-it dog wash, just to provide a service for the dirty dogs who really don't need a groomer.

My name is Robin and I'm one of the older ones having turned 49 this year. (YIKES!! The big "50" next year)
Live in Indianola, Iowa - a small town just south of the capital city - with my significant other (of 20+) years. We live on a small piece of ground that's just about 3 acres. Love living in the country!
Currently work as a secretary for a small trade association. Not sure I love it, but it pays the bills. Would love to work in or own doggie daycare.
We are currently owned by four very loved and spoiled furbabies;
Max, 8 yr. old dachshund (he was supposed to be my anniversary present-but he's always been Dick's dog)
Carly, a 5 yr old mixed breed (we rescued her from the neighbors who were starving her - take my word for it she's not starving now);
Mollie, 1 yr old yorkshire terrier (aka terrorist); and
Muffin, a 10 wk old dachshund (Dick's early birthday present-only in the house a week and already spoiled rotten).
I found PetTalk when my son sent me a link of dog of the day and said it looked like his dog. I kept checking back and finally joined, not sure why he didn't.
Really enjoy reading all the information here. Have found out things about different breeds and dog behaviors that I think will really help me at home with mine.
Am constantly surprised and delighted that people of all ages and backgrounds can come together and discuss their love for pets in a positive and caring way. No one here thinks you're crazy for loving your pets and here they are family not just "property"!!
My name is Ashley and I'm 15 years old (FINALLY). I live in PA and I really like it here at the moment. I hate the winter here but I love the M.T.'S which is what keeps me here. i am un imployed but I am going around to lol vets office's to be a kennel girl :D I don't have a boy friend. I am owned by 25 pets 7 which are mine.
When I graduate from High school I plan on ordeing a dog training thing of of the Tv, I'm sure you have seen these college corses at home things. Yea, those, for Dog trainng. Then I'm going to a college around here to get enough credits to go to a school else where. At that school I will get a PHD in Animal Behavior and after that I plan on opening my own shelter and maybe a Doggie day care. But the Shelter is what I'm working towards.
I really enjoy doing scrap book's and I also enjoy rollerbladeing with my dog Nova.
I have 1 sister and 3 brothers and I just found out I will be an Aunt soon. I live with my Father and Oldest Brother.

My name is Christine, I am a widow woman and one of the older Pet Talkers at 57 years old. I have one son, Jeff, who is 40 years old and married to a lovely girl named Jayne. They have given me two beautiful grandaughers, Lianne, who is aged 16 and Dannielle aged 7.
I have held many different jobs in my life, most of them doing cashier/receptionist type work though I have done waitressing and factory work too. I am retired now and have been for a number of years.
I have two pets, my dog Bob who is an English Springer Spaniel. and my cat Ebby, she was from a shelter and has owned me for exactly six months tommorow!
I found Dog of the Day quite a time ago, bookmarked it and used to come back and look at the pets now and again. Last year I noticed the Pet Talk button, clicked on it, joined, and have been addicted ever since (I`m glad to say! :))

I owned day care Centers till '96, sold them and some how got in to animal care. One of those things that just happen. I was asked if I could help with a Pom that was set on fire years ago and sense then it just grew in to what I now have.
I found pet of the day about a week ago, been on other pet sites but so far really like it here better. There a bigger range of pets and owners.

All pets, All spoiled All the pets listed, with the exception of Tuffy (boxer), Brock (Great dane) and Chi Chi (chinchilla) have been abused in some way.

Anyway, I'm Micki and I live in Wylie, TX, a very small town that’s a suburb of Dallas. I'm the mommy to a Toy Fox Terror, uh, Terrier named Chester and a Jack Russell mix named Millie.
I'm 35 and have been married to my husband for almost 8 years. I'm the office manager for a company that renovates swimming pools. (Very busy this time of the year.) I also volunteer at a nearby shelter, helping out with the administrative junk and the adopt a pets. Want to somehow do more.
I used to subscribe to a daily joke and it also gave several links for unusual sites. DOTD was one of them and I visited it every day. Finally one day I noticed the Pet Talk link and clicked and my life was magically transformed. I know it sounds corny, but this is the kind of place I've been searching for all my life. Very few people that I meet in person have the strong bond that I have with pets. Most people roll their eyes and tell me I need to have a baby. :rolleyes: I have two, you can see them in my signature. :)

My name is Anna, and I'm owned by: Malone, yellow lab/golden mix; Marigold, the snuggliest kitty; Willow, angora bunny; Rilla, Cockatiel; and Jimmy the fish. I have been married to Mark for 6 years. Mark is my best friend & companion. I work for a small company that sales/service of office equipment (copiers/fax machines/printers). There are only 6 other people/2 subcontractors that work for our company, and it's more like an extended family than an office environment. Some days, we have TOO much fun. :rolleyes:

My name is Chantelle, I am 15, will be 16 in July. I have a Golden Retriever names Buddy, I am not sure how old he is, the vet said anywhere from 2-5. I also am owned by 12 cats, Peppurr, Mimi, Vader, Twinkles, Majesty, Chaos, Zeus, Rascal, and Hercules, Xena, Mischief, and Felix.
I am obsessed with Star Trek :D And LOTR. I like to collect Video Games, Video Game Consoles, and DVD's. My favorite movies are Gladiator, LOTR, All of the Star Trek's, All the Star Wars, Sleepy Hollow, and Titanic. My favorite TV shows are The Simpsons, Malcom In The Middle, That 70's Show, WWE Raw, WWE Smackdown, Family Guy, underGrads, and Mission Hill. I love Heavy Metal/Death Metal music. My favorite bands are Metallica, Slayer, Sepultura, and Pantera :)

LOL The MinPin standing on the arm of the couch, the only way she can look Barocka (Great Dane) in the eyes. She small, about the size of Barocka's head. One Bite from Barocka and she gone. :eek: Thankfully they get along.

My name is Diana and I am way old. My two daughters (Cincy's Mom and Dakota's Mommy) are PTers and that is how I got into PetTalk.
My husband and I have 5 dogs, Oreo, a 13 1/2 beagle/poodle mix; Dazzi a 3 year old golden mix; Taggert, a 1 year old airdale mix;Snoopy, a 1 year old Dalmation mix and Jack a 4 year old airedale. I would probably have more dogs if Carl wasn't so hard hearted. LOL
Besides the two girls we have a son named Rob who lives and works in Cincinatti and has no pets. Don't know what we did wrong with him. He must take after his dad. :)
For 16 years I worked at a Catholic Parish Office until my position was eliminated last year. Carl worked at a company for 26 years when they closed his plant last fall. We could have moved to Florida with his company but wanted to stay closer to or children and friends. Both of us are looking for jobs right now.

My name is Sarah and I am sixteen. I'm in Year 10 at the moment (just finished mid-years) and am trying so hard to do well at school, since I want to be a vet, and I don't know about America, but here in Australia only about 260 people get into veterinary science nationwide each year. So I'm gonna have to do the slog to get there :D
I volunteer at my local RSPCA (with the dogs, initially, but this weekend I start with the cats. Hopefully I'll be transferred back soon...I love the kitties, but the reason I volunteered was for the dogs), and am hopefully getting a job at my local vets after I do my work experience there at the end of this term, in late June.
My favouritest show in all the world is Buffy the Vampire Slayer :D Six episodes until the ultimate season finale. Oh boy, am I loving Season 7! Andrew totally cracks me up - "In my scenario, we are beltless" LOL :D He's hilarious, as is Anya.
My primary love in terms of pets are dogs. They've been my calling since I was a little girl ;), but my parents aren't fond of the idea of a house pet. So, we have many compromises - two rabbits (Zander and Fergus), seven guinea pigs (Garrison, Maverick, Kennedi, Opal, Lavender, Hallie and Pyper), and two birds (Lachie and Austin - yes, they are house pets, but we got them on the condition they are not outside their cage without me being there). Over the years I've had mice, snails, skinks, caterpillars, and fish, too. :p
In February my next door neighbours got a Golden Retriever puppy called Lucy, and are kind enough to let me walk her mostly every day, and play with her and everything, so she's my 'half-dog'. I'm trying very hard to teach her good manners, as well, but that's not working out so well :rolleyes:

My name is Christina I`m 14 right now. Next year I will be going to high school in a new school that I`ve never even heard of b/c I just moved to Austin Texas a little while ago. I really want to go back to my OTHER house(the one we don`t own anymore)but I know that won`t happen b/c...well it won`t. I really don`t do anything like work or volunteer anywhere b/c my Mom and Step-dad don`t let me :D But as soon as I can ?I`m gonna. I`ve ALWAYS wanted to be a vetrinarian,I think since I was 5 or 6.

My favorite animal would have to be horses (even tho I don`t own one).
My favorite dog breed, obviously, Rottweilers.I don`t have a Rottie right now but when I`m older people will be afraid of me b/c I`m gonna be the old lady next door that`s obsessed with rotties. We used to have a rottie named Brut that we had to give away b/c of certain reasons, but he ended up getting out of that persons yard and he got hit by a truck. I`m mostly into BIG dogs like rotties or Great Danes.
How did I find Pet Talk.....hmmm..Ohhh yeah.... Ihad always come to Pet Of The day Dog of the day and cat of the day but then PET TALK WAS THERE!!!! I was amazed...I didn`t join for a while I just visited but I decied to join when I was 12 and told everyone I was 13.... BAD IDEA!
