I say chicken because I believe in the Bible and it says God made the animals and birds. It doesn't say nothin' bout no egg!!! Besides without the chicken there would be nothing to sit on the egg and hatch it!!! That's my opinion, and I'm stickin' to it!!!:D
Sometimes I would say the egg came first, but maybe the chicken did.I dont know. How about the chicken came first in the egg?:D
I believe the magical egg fairy brought us the egg. So the next question is, where did the magical egg fairy come from?
I voted for Egg :)
That's what the Quran says too, and I'm sticking to it. The egg couldn't hatch without a chicken sitting on it. The chicken came first, just like Adam came before the babies. If everything started as an egg, it would never have survived, and none of us would even be in existance!Quote:

The chicken came first! No doubt in my mind! :p:p:p
So.....................no conclusion yet? ;););)
chicken
The chicken came first. :) I am pretty sure. God made all of the animals from saying a simple sentence. Then, there were animals. INCLUDING chickens. He didn't make an egg first. He put the chicken on the earth with her rooster buddy so that she could LAY eggs and make more chickens. Does that clear everything now?
The Chicken, somebody had to sit on the egg to get it to hatch, and I kinda doubt the Easter Bunny sit on the egg.:D
THE CHICKEN.....
You HAVE to walk past the meat counter before you see the milk/egg fridges in the store that I patronize.
Egg!
But what if God made the animals as eggs!!
Just joking. I don't have any idea.
I would have to say the chicken came first.
darn! i want to change my vote! if the chicken was first then there would hsve to be a rooster too.:)
OMG, I have the funniest cartoon for this specific question. I so wish I could share it, but it's not clean.
An interesting question.. In the movie "Angel Heart" it was mentioned that some religions use the egg as a symbol for the soul.
Creatures were laying eggs millions of years before there were chickens.
The first chicken hatched in a nest of similar birds and was raised like the swan in the "ugly duckling" story.
Popcorn- It is not a choice between religion and science. Personal beliefs come from a melding of seemingly contradictory evidence. You are the Crown of Creation!
Eeeeewww, I had forgotten all about that movie until you mentioned it! Man, that dude was CREEEPY! When I used to have a "real" job, we had a group of auditors come in from our corporate office. The main auditor looked JUST like that creepy guy in Angel Heart ... eeewww, eeewww, eeewwww.Quote:

Ooooops, off topic.
;)
CHICKEN!
Yeah, it was Robert Dinero playing the Devil, Mickey Rourke as the PI and Lisa Bonet as the voodoo child.
You are not really off the subject, chickens played a big part too, if I remember right.;)
I have no idea. Although you both have points to be condsidered.
The egg. ;)
I still say the chicken. I think that God made the chicken before he made an egg.
Chicken came first because then the chicken layed the egg
I said egg,but i guess we'll never know.
The first chicken was made from the egg (fertilized reproductive cell) inside the chicken-like bird that laid it later. A gamma ray from the sun likely hit its nucleus and altered its DNA (genetic code), before it divided the first time.
Thus, the first embryo chicken developed inside an egg laid by another bird.
After it hatched and was cared for by another bird (its mother), it successfully mated with a bird (like its father), and laid the first chicken egg. All chickens come from this first mutated bird.
Evolution does not negate creation by God, it just argues that creation is ongoing, not something that was accomplished on a certain date less than 5,000 years ago.:)
I still say chicken.
Wow................this thread is old..............but I'm still firm on the *chicken comes first* belief. :pQuote:

I lived in Tennessee for many years, the State where the Scope's trial was held. It was against the law to teach the theory of Evolution in public schools there until 1967. They still teach Creationism alongside Evolution there, to this day.
So your views are held by many others.
Do you also believe that the fossils in the rocks of dinosaurs were created when the animals we know today were created?
Just food for thought!
I'm going with egg.
I'm tying it to genesis. Adam was made first, not Eve. You have to have the feminine womb to lay the egg. Man could never reproduce, it is the product of reproduction. So, my theory is that God made the egg, the formed the chicken which held the womb to house the egg.
Dinosaur layed egg, and then came chicken lol :)
Egg
I think Nature made eggs first, but I remember chasing chickens around and trying to catch them before I remember an egg!LOL
