I really hated to post bad news, but I have not seen or heard
her since the first part of last week. I talked to Molly Thurs. eve.
and both she & Mike were ready to come at a moment's notice
to help pick her up & transport her to Shelter.Either AC picked
her up, or the people have hidden her somewhere. Her house
is only three houses away from me & I know I would have heard
or seen her in their yard is she were still here. She should be of
some value to these people, if only as a breeder dog, I would
think. I fear AC has taken her. Molly told me that
she heard that Indy AC has not changed their policy on Pits:(
If that's the case, she's at Rainbow Bridge. I will call AC again
tomorrow to see if they have an update on the report number
they gave me.It's a very different "feel" around the neighborhood
since she's disapeared. The local stray kitties have re-appeared,
like they know she's gone. I have a very bad feeling about the
little red girl.:( I'll never stop looking & watching for her.
-
:(:(:( Poor "Red Girl." Please let us know Liz when you hear something. And thank you SO much for trying to help her. It must have been very emotionally draining for you.

As luck would have it, I did find out a lot more info today.
I called the Mayor's Action Center, gave them the report num,
etc, & the records had been updated since last I called. She
was picked up on Weds. 1/8/03 and the "owners" were cited
(served papers/with fines) for turning the dog out, having no
license, proof of rabies vac., etc. She was not brought in as a
stray, so she'll have 7 days for her owners to re-claim her.
They said that PB's are not put up for adoption...If she's not
re-claimed or pulled by PB Rescue, she's pts. They said a PB
rescue person comes through AC once a week & pulls dogs.
She would not give me the Rescue's number, so I called Rosie
& she suppied a name & contact number. Called Amy, the PB
rescue person & explained the situation about the red girl.
PB Rescue promised to go & pull a "hold" on her for the PB
group & at least give her an evaluation for adoption. The PB
rescue person said "Don't you just hate scumbags like that who
would throw away a dog"? I couldn't agree more... I feel some
ray of hope for this little girl. :)
-
Thank you, Liz, for contacting PB rescue. That is her only hope. Thank you for caring about her!!
-
I am glad that you were able to find out what happened to her. And contact a rescue. I really hope that the PB rescue will be able to adopt her out to a new loving family. I am also gald her owners were given a fine!! They deserve worse.
That "Red Girl" is so lucky to have you on her side! Good Job!
-
Liz, you are my hero! Way to go for "Red Girl"!! My husband used to think I was crazy when I'd do things like that. Now he thinks its great. I hope and pray she'll evaluate well for adoption. I've got my fingers crossed and Chester and Millie will cross their paws for her!:D :D :D
-
Great news that there is a ray of hope for this little red dog! :D Please keep us updated, Liz.
-
-
So glad to hear there is hope for this PB girl!! Thank you Liz for keeping with it and makeing sure she is safe!
-
Little Red Girl has so many guardian angels working on her behalf, and the one with the biggest pair of wings is you, Liz!:) Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Hoping for the best!!!!
-
I've got that Red girl on my mind this morning, and I'm so relieved that there is a ray of hope for her, Liz. Without your intervention, there might not be. You have gone above and beyond, but I am not surprised at that!
Keep us posted if you learn anything more, and thank you again, Molly and Mike too, for being so willing to step in to help the innocent girl.

I have been avoiding this thread for fear of reading bad news. But the news is good! Thank you Liz for taking action and helping this girl.
-
Just a short note to say that I have not heard back from the
PB Rescue person as yet. I know they must be super busy all
the time, but I think I'll try giving Rescue a call tomorrow to see
if they managed to see the litle red girl yet. I know she could
win them over if she's given a chance. That's all I want for this
girl is a fair chance at happiness. Good or bad, I'll let you know
what happens. Thanks for the good wishes for this sweetie:)
-
Liz, you are Red Girl's champion!! Prayers that rescue takes her.
-
Aww:(
You people are just saints to help that poor little girl.
Please let us know if PB rescue gets her and especially if she gets a perminant home.
The people who left her behind well they arent people :(
-
Little Red Girl, we're all pulling for you, sweetie!! Let us know, Liz!!
-
I don't have any news yet. I did not call the PB rescue person
yesterday, but I did call today & left a voice mail message.
I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this. Two days after I
learned the red girl was picked up by AC, I had a dream about
her. She(don't know her name), was laying in a green grassy
field & she was smiling the way dogs do when they are resting
and peaceful. The dream woke me up & i told myself that this
could mean good, happy times were ahead for her. I swear,
sometimes I "think" I hear her with her soft whine when I'm
outside in the yard with Moki. I hope she's o.k. & that she's
not too scared or lonesome, wherever she is.:(
I don't know what else to do but wait and call about her again
in a day or two. Maybe the PB person has bad news & just
doesn't want to tell me. I don't know.
-
Oh, Liz, how scary. The not knowing and worrying is so hard. I hope she is ok. Thank you so much for caring.
-
Did you ever hear anything, Liz? I am almost afraid to ask........
-
Logan,
No, I've never gotten a call back from the PB rescue person.
I'm also almost afraid to find out myself. I check my V-mail
everyday after work hoping for some news, but nothing yet.
This PB rescue lady seemed so kind & caring when I first talked
to her & I'm sure she is, but she doesn't know me from "Adam".
Think I'll call Rosie (SS. Animal Shelter) and see if she could
find out any news on the dog. At least Rosie, knows me somewhat & knows my intentions are good. We'll see.
-
Good luck, Liz. Thanks for trying so hard!
-
I will never understand how people could just leave their pet behind like garbage....Grrrrrrrrrrrrr it makes me so mad!
No reguard for the animal, how can people be so unattached! I could never dream of leaving Phoebe and Deisel behind, they are my kids............
