Bobby has gone downhill very fast, over the last 24/48 hours. He can only walk a few paces and can hardly stand. That awful decision, the one all of us dread having to make, has been made, a vet will be here at my home to do the deed sometime after 10.30am UK time.
Oh Chris, I am so sorry to hear this. A tough decision for you, but one I know that you make totally out of love. Give Bobby a hug for me and take one for yourself too.
Oh Chris i am sorry :(. Give your gorgeous boy a hug from me. As much as it hurts and breaks our hearts it's the least we can do for them after their years of friendship and love. Look after yourself.

I'm sorry to read about your Bobby. I hope you and your family cope with the sad time. Our Yorkie died last monday, (Boxing Day), so I know where you are right now.
Bobby, please have a smooth trip to Rainbow Bridge. You will have many friends there to greet you.
Chris, this must be an oh so difficult time. We all will be there some day, with our current pets. Be strong. You are doing the right thing.

I am so sorry your Bobby couldnt get better. I know firsthand what it is like to have vet come to the house and "do the deed". It broke my heart years ago and I should have done it earlier. You love Bobby enough to let him go. I have tears in my eyes thinking about it. You are in my prayers. Kay in NC

I'm just seeing this. So very sorry. Too many of us know the pain of loss.
I'm crying buckets right now. :(:(Thank God I'm the only one left here at work. You know, we've expected this but somehow when I see it in writing that he's gone, well, it doesn't make it any easier to accept.
My heart is breaking for you Chris and I feel your pain. You know, I still have all the pictures and videos of Bobby you emailed me over the past number of years - and hanging on my wall is your sketch of Bob that you did for me - of yes, and I have a lock of his fur. I'll stop babbling now.
RIP sweet Bob. I wonder if you ever know how loved you were/are from all around the world.

There's nothing to say that hasn't already been said, but I wanted to let you know that you have prayers of healing going out to you. Now matter how long that our beloved furkids are with us, it's never long enough.

Today is especially hard because it's a day of 'firsts', first day in over thirteen years my boy was not there to say good morning, first day he was not there to hurry me to let him outside then make his breakfast ... the world seems to have shifted somehow.
*Tears* You will feel lost for a while. You lose some of yourself when they're gone. It never truly goes away but it does get easier.

In my time I've lost more than a few dogs though age and illness but losing Bobby is just that little bit harder. The difference between him and the others is not that they were less loved but more the fact that Bobby and I, have been together 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for over thirteen years. The only time spent apart have been for the odd hour or so when I've gone shopping, or visit family, doctors, ect. I think the longest times have been around 6 or so hours on my annual trip to the zoo.
Right now I thank God for my Ebby. She may not be a cuddle cat or indeed very loving but helping her to realise she has her home to herself now is a task that helps somehow.
