I am on call 24/7, if I didn't respond bad things could happen, I am not self important it is a fact of the nature of the IT work that I do.
Its not bad planning or bad training or whatever, stuff happens. If you haven't done someone's job you shouldn't judge.
Its just the nature of the beast in IT. Many of our clients are 24x7 operations. E-Commerce server dies at 3am, costing them $3,000/hour its down... You bet im taking that call. Could I be a 'better' IT provider and get them into a 99.999% up time environment? Sure. But, because I really understand small business I just know better than to even offer it to certain clients, because some of that technology is REALLY expensive.Quote:
