That's GREAT NEWS! Wonderful that Karen has come through all this and is now back home recovering with the Tender Loving Care (and cooking and cleaning) of her devoted husband.
Rest up, gain strength, feel better, Karen! We are sending loads of prayers and warm wishes and healing energies your way.
Glad to read that the surgery went well and that Karen is healing nicely. Lots of TLC is what's needed now but you're taking care of that so all is well. Good news, Wom!
So you are going to Thai one on??? :o:p:D
Yay, Wom and Mrs Wom are back! Mrs Wom, my mom has had this surgery two times. Both times she was very hoarse afterward and had sore throats. Since then she gets her blood calcium level checked 2-3 times a year because it runs a little high; but otherwise, she is fine. The second time, the tumor was so slow growing that the doctor watched it for months before he decided to remove it.
It is just super to see you back and posting. Hey - a guy who is good to his wife - takes good care of her - and COOKS TOO!!! Pretty special
I think.
Seriously, good wishes that all continues to go well.
Hey there Wom, so glad to hear Karen is recovering well, gives you a bit of a scare though, and a worrying time for you both, happy all went well, and hoping she will be feeling good for xmas, oh and i have one of those 18 yr old daughters too, looks like a tornado has hit the place sometimes. lol
Take care both of you. :)
I'm glad Mrs. Wombat is feeling better, and has great food to look forward too!
Mrs. Wom, I hope you are feeling better and better each day! Wom, bless you for taking such good care of Mrs. Wom! (((hugs)))
My mom's calcium level is always a little high. Her lab's normal is 8.5-10.3 and hers is usually between 10.7 and 11.4. Her doctor wants it checked every 4 to 6 months, no exceptions. The closer it is to normal, the longer he waits.
I'm so glad she is doing well. Yes, anesthetic agents can cause problems, and not only in humans. My cat, Duffy, who was just 11 at the time, arrested as one of the IV solutions was being given - he was going to have his teeth cleaned. Fortunately a bit of Epinephrine and some stimulation brought him round. He, also, spent the night in the ICU, as he was diagnosed with an innocent murmur several years ago. All is well now.

Wom, I'm glad Mrs. Wom came through her surgery ok and is on the mend. I'm sure she would recover much quicker if she had a decent caregiver. I guess you are doing the best you can though, all thing considered, being an Aussie and all. Welcome back to the fray mate.:D
Good thinking Mate. You're smarter than I gave you credit for.Quote:
WOM
Well yeah, I am a good caregiver. I have even bought paper plates to eat off so that she won't be faced with a sink stacked high with dirty dishes for her to wash when she fully recovers.
I'm good at that....planning ahead.

I'm sitting here shocked, though. YOU, MARRIED WITH CHILDREN???:eek:
As for your daughter...aren't kids wonderful? You wait anxiously for them to walk and talk. Once they do, you can't wait for them to shut up and sit down!!:p
Mine is getting married on June 4. *shakes head, rolls eyes* A WHOLE OTHER EXPERIENCE!!
Feel Better, Karen!! Take advantage of it!!;):D
I'm very glad to hear that she went through the surgery well and is on the mend. Send her my best wishes for a speedy recovery:)
