This is the final list as I know it. Do you need directions/phone numbers/anything? I'm planning on seeing all of you on the 13th!! Let me know if there's anything you need!
Maggie:D
Got my hotel reservations made. Looking forward to it!
Are we all bringing a dish, or wine, or what is going on with that part of the party??
What is still needed? Let me know and I'll gladly bring something!! Dove kabobs sound interesting... do they taste like chicken?!:p
I'm bringing a pasta salad and smokey cocktail links in a sweet/sour sauce - unless anyone has any other suggestions.
There are some bringing wine, some bringing dishes, but either is optional. I'll plan the menu around what I know is coming-there will be plenty of food and drink. I had told some since they had a distance to travel that it wouldn't make sense to try and bring a dish. Whatever you want to do is fine with me. See you all soon! :D
They taste like....dove. LOL Dove meat is very dark with a slightly sweet taste. "Kabob" style, the way I make them, they are sweet, with BACON. How can you go wrong? LOL
The season opens tommorrow and I will be out all day and then a few other times before the big day. I hope to harvest enough to be able to provide everybody a couple to sample, plus have enough for ourselves at home. LOL
Y'all ready??

It's PARTY TIME!!
I've gotten a few PM's regarding dress code - it's CASUAL, folks!! This, if the weather holds out, will be a cookout. My husband will probably be in a tie dye with shorts, and Pinot is the only one allowed to be without clothes! ;) Be comfortable!
If anyone needs any additional information, let me know, I think I gave you all my cell if there's any issue.
See you real soon!!
Maggie:)
Dave and I will be there, with clothes on, and will be bringing something in the dessert category. I'm thinking of an ambrosia like salad that is made with little tiny pastas that look like tapioca. It's yummy stuff!!!
By the way, I related this conversation to my husband, and was corrected on one small point....he won't be wearing a tie dye. It's opening day, and we'll be decked out in RAVENS GEAR!!
There is a possibility that Dave and I won't be down this weekend. I have an interview tonight for a new part time job and I will hopefully be starting this weekend!! I walked in to Lane Bryant (plus sized clothes shop) last night, introduced myself, and filled out an application. They were excited I wanted nights and weekend hours, lol.
So, sorry if I won't make it, but wish me luck on the job interview this evening!
Getting around and will be leaving home within the hour. See y'all tomorrow afternoon!
Well, just to let you know, Eileen (momcat) has been here since last evening; we've been having wonderful conversation and anticipating everyone's arrival. Pinot is wondering why Groucho didn't come with her; I'm sure that wouldn't have been the best idea. ;)
See y'all tomorrow - call me if there's any problem!
Maggie
I have a handicapped permit for my car - be sure to save me a spot! :p
I'll be heading out around 11ish to allow myself plenty of time to get lost!
See ya soon............
Ok we are heading ou t probably around 1... so we will likely be fashionably late LOL.
See you all soon
Well, party's over...we had a wonderful time! Photos are in my profile albums under "gatherings" - we're hoping to make this annual and expand it. I was so glad to have the opportunity to meet all that came; Pinot was not a social butterfly, but I think she's forgiven! Talk to y'all soon!
Great pictures - but when you get time, we need names to go with faces. I've recognize a couple from past posts and meetings, but the rest are a mystery :)
Thanks so much, Maggie (and Coop) for having us!! Everything was wonderful...food, weather, company. Great pictures too. I Didn't get too many, but will post what I have later this week when I get home.
Ellie, I'm sorry I didn't get to say much of a good-bye. My husband was calling to let me know one of our dogs (Spot) had just had some issues...we think a mini-seizure. He started shaking, and then collpased onto his belly. He never lost consciousness and was really immobile for 5-10 seconds. He is doing fine since, and and after talking to the vet, doesn't seem to be an emergency. He will be going to the vet tomorrow for some blood work just to be sure everything is okay.
For the attendee's... We made it home and Hannah was asleep, as advertised, before we got to the beltway. She only woke, again as advertised, when we stopped after getting of the freeway in York. Also, sorry for Hannah making herself the center of attention. It's just what she does. LOL
Thanks Maggie (and Cooper) for hosting a very nice event. It was great and we look forward to doing it again soon. I only have one request for next time. :) Take the pics earlier.... I look grumpy. LOL
For a taste of the afternoon I will share some random tidbits of conversations and happenings. I will leave credits out to protect the innocent. (Or to allow them to expand should they choose and I hope they do...LOL)
"Fallopian Tubes"
"I love my daughter in law... It's like having a wife without all the hassle."
"Hannah's Tomatoes"
"Hey, Pukestop is here!"
"Diggle blah blittle bla bla...."
"He will be back after the game is over."
Very fun event! THANK YOU MAGGIE!!!
*** ETA Special shout out to Cincy's Mom (Amy) for putting up with the special attention Hannah was giving you. She tends to pick a person at events like this and cling. :)
Thanks so much for organizing this get together. it was so much fun. can't wait to do it again.
We had a lot of laughs. I think I'm a little hoarse from laughing so much today. Such great stories haha.
Just a quick few lines . . . I made it home to south jersey around 9:15 pm and see some of the other attendees are already home safe and sound, too.
It was great to meet, greet and chat it up with everyone. At least now I can begin to put faces to the names. I'm a relative newbie (by comparison to some of the others) so I don't have the same advantage of history -- but I can say, "A good time was had by all" today.
Special thanks to Maggie & Coop -- great hosts, good food and the camaraderie enjoyed today.
This definitely has potential for being a recurring event!
Like Barbara, I'm back home in New Jersey with wonderful memories of a fantastic weekend! The food was out of this world.....love that shrimp, Maggie! We couldn't have asked for better weather, it was made to order and purrfect for relaxing on the deck.
It was a pleasure meeting such a wonderful group of people. I only wish the time didn't go by so fast. And Hannah is absolutely adorable, a real sweetie!
Maggie and Coop, thank you very much for everything
I came home tonight to find a message on my answering machine from Laurie. She went on and on about how wonderful it was and how good it was to be around PTers. I wish I could have been there but it's a bit too far for me. I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures.....
Fallopian tubes??????:D:D I can hardly wait for that story.:D
Oh my goodness.. that shrimp. it was FANTASTIC. and you are right... t he weather was made to order. it was beautiful and sunny without being too hot. a beautiful breeze. it was PERFECT.
maggie... you guys put on a good spread :D and everyone who brought extra goodies... it was all delicious. those meatballs... YUM. that potato salad was AWESOME. everything was great.
Aww thanks. Hannah likes to show off for a crowd so she kind of took over the meeting at times lol. And thanks to everyone for being so sweet to her and humoring her. Maggie... we are gonna have to have some of those tomatoes LOL. She was BEAT tonight. she slept most of the way home and then when we got home I snuggled her on the couch for a bit and she was dying to go to her crib and zonk out lol.
I also have some photos (most of them are of hannah though but a few of the REST of us lol) so I can post them if you guys don't mind. and I'd love to see all the p hotos from you guys :D
Let's see if this works ...

Yep ol Puky looks grumpy. :D
Im sure Hannah stole the show.
I'm here - better late than never. Made it home just around 9, but was tired from fighting the traffic, so just called it a day. Eileen - you had the right idea - Amtrak!
First of all - thank you Maggie and Coop for a great time and opening your beautiful home to a bunch of animal loving strangers. All the food was wonderful and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. I had a great time and it was fantastic to get to meet and talk to so many people that I never imagined I would. You are all terrific!
The album is great Maggie. Brian didn't look that grumpy - just look at the old broad that was sitting next to him (on his right-not Laurie on the left!) - now that's grumpy looking. Maybe it was contagious???
Amy - no problem - and so sorry to hear that your pooch had a problem. Hope you find that it is nothing serious.
Hoping we'll be able to do this again - maybe make it an annual event?? And perhaps by the next time we can appoint Hannah as the official photographer. She'll probably have the art mastered by then! :D
I'll check the pics I took and post later if I have some good ones.
Again - thanks again for a fun Sunday! :D
Lovely to see your pictures Maggie, thanks very much for posting them. When you first posted this thread I thought that you were coming half-way over to meet me! I was very disappointed - turned out "Mid Atlantic" was somewhere in the States! Who knew? :D
Kisses to Pinot. I hope she is none the worse for the invasion.
Well better late than never :D Although Laurie (lbaker) and I had the shortest drive to our respective homes, I see that we are the last to the party (just like yesterday).
Maggie and Coop, I would like to thank you very much for hosting a wonderful afternoon, opening your home to everyone, and hosting such a nice spread. As you said ... we shall have to try again next year :)
Cheryl, please share that potato salad recipie. :) It was scrum-diddly-umptious.
You had me at "bacon" and "lots of smoke". :D
Thank you :D I am at work right now (putting kibble on the table for the furry ones), so I will do it when I get home tonight.
