A lump in the throat,
A tear in the eye,
But there's a bright new Starr
Shining in the sky.
Rest in peace, Starr, and play happily at the Bridge as you await your beloved Tracey.

Tracey...I'm so sorry about your beloved Starr:love::(...We here at PT all share your grief today, and most (if not all) of us have been where you are. Even though Starr:love: was just 4, his problems were really diminishing his quality of life, and it sounds as though you had done all you could for him. He knew how much you loved him, and as you said, he is in a place now where he has no more pain or sickness, and is running and playing happily in the sunshine at the RB...
What a handsome boy Starr:love: was...Just know that he loves you, he's watching over you and will always be with you...God bless...
Judy
I am so sorry about Starr. He was a special boy and won't be forgotten.
Tracey, I am so, so sorry. Big HUGS to you,
Elyse
Thanks so much everyone for all of your nice comments.:) I'm still getting major LES when I read them. Tonight at feeding time, it seemed so strange not to have to feed Starr his babyfood mixture mixed with his herbal supplements.:( I know I'll get used to this in time. My cats didn't seem to mind because they could be fed sooner.:) Before any one even mentions it, no I won't be adopting another cat any time soon. I've realized that I need to decrease my numbers not increase or maintain them. Hopefully I won't have to go through this again for many many years though.
Tracey, I'm so very, very sorry for your loss. "The decision" is not easy to make but I do know in my heart that you made the right one and sweet Starr now shines brightly in the sky. He was extremely lucky to have a Meowmie like you. He knew love and you knew his calming purr. What more could we ask for???

oh Tracey - I'm so sorry to hear this...
Please accept my heartfelt condolences and big hugs.
Godspeed Starr.
Tracey - I am so sorry the kitten pics of Starr upset you so. :( I wanted to make a little tribute for him, to remember when...even though Pearl was also in all the pics! ;)
{{{{hugs}}}}
I'm just seeing this now. You made the right decision for poor Starr, but that doesn't make it easy, does it. He couldn't have wished for a better human than you, and you will all be reunited some day.

I'm so sorry to hear that your sweet boy Starr has gone to the Rainbow Bridge.:(
I know he was sick for a long time and that you did all you possibly could for him.
Sending hugs your way.
I am so deeply sorry to hear this, Tracey. I had no idea. The most humane decision is often the hardest decision. Gentle hugs to you at this most difficult time. He is free of all illness now. RIP, beautiful one.
Johanna
Tracey, I could hardly believe the title of this thread. Of all your kitties, Starr has always been the one who grabbed my attention because of his likeness to Butter (but with a better attitude :) ). I know how hard you have fought to keep him healthy.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this terribly difficult time.
Logan
I know that you meant well but it was just very hard for me emotionally to look at his kitten pictures yesterday. I'm feeling a bit better today.:) There seems to be a lot less stress in my home now. My cats and I all feel less stressed out. In the long run we'll all be much happier now especially since I know that Starr is pain free and now at peace.:)
Thanks again everyone for all of your support and nice comments towards my baby boy.:)
That was very brave and loving of you, to release Starr sooner rather than later, you gave him one last great gift. The pain is very great, I know, and you carry it with you wherever you are and whatever you do for some time. Try to keep bringing to mind his fun times, the cuddle times, the crazy kitten times.
I had no idea he was that sick, and it's difficult to imagine such a young cat (who doesn't have something obviously dire like cancer) being so very, very ill. I think my Darcy is ill in a similar way with inflammation in his colon, interstitial cystitis, and some stomatitis. It's near impossible to believe that a young adult, looking wonderful and acting playfully though perhaps not vigorously, can have an illness that is basically putting the body into constant fight mode. I have had a tendency to blow out of proportion the positive signs - such as decent appetite, loving attention, chasing Maeve under the chair, convincing myself that proves he's really okay, and not letting myself really think about the bad signs. This is like a wake-up call to me to face what I don't want to believe, what I really want to down-play into near insignificance.
Starr was very lucky in his guardian.
Tracey I am so sorry. It is so hard after Willy to see another little boy going to Rainbow Bridge whom we all know from the very beginning.
I always saw your meezer group as a little tribe on their own and hope you all will be ok.
Tracey - my heart aches for your loss. I am so sorry about Starr. He really was a STAR.
Godspeed
I am so sorry to read about Starr!!! I remember him being introduced to us as a young kitty with those BLUE EYES!!! No matter how long they are with us, it is never long enough...Sleep softly, dear sweet Starr....
I'm so sorry Tracey, but I agree with Johanna where she said:
It's so difficult when they are so young - I went through the similar decision with Nakita.Quote:
The most humane decision is often the hardest decision. Gentle hugs to you at this most difficult time.
Many hugs.
RIP Starr
I'm so sorry to hear about Starr. My heart sunk when I saw the thread title. Starr has always been one of my favorite PT kitties, and I will always have a special place for him in my heart.
Tracey thank you for PMing me and letting me know. As I expressed to you I was so shocked and saddened to read this. Please give all your other babies a hug and kiss for me.
Dear Starr,
I'm sorry that life on earth turned out to be such a struggle. :(
I know that if you could not stay with your mommy then you would want to be with the Meezer Gods at the Rainbow Bridge. Now you don't have to struggle anymore.
You will be reunited with your mommy and Pearlie Girl and your siblings, and mommy will see the whole new you.
One Fine Day.
Love,
All of us who knew you here.

I heard about his passing yesterday and couldn't believe it! Such a young boy, but God needed him more than we did. My thoughts go to you, along with many hugs.
Tracey- our thoughts and prayers are coming your way. This poem came to me yesterday, and I would like to pass it on to you:
REQUEST FROM THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
By Constance Jenkins
Weep not for me though I am gone
Into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long
Upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul's at rest.
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed
For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts.
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath,
Rember not the strife,
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.
Your Starr and my Yoshi could have been twins, so I am giving Yoshi extra huggies today - just for Starr
Thanks again everyone.:) Bunny and Karen thanks for the beautiful poems. I know that Starr wouldn't want to me to be sad so I'm tryng to be strong and trying to remember the happy times that I had with him.:)
I'm so sorry to hear about Starr ( I just saw his tribute on Facebook).

Thanks again everyone.:) I don't know if any one here believes that our pets come back and visit us but I do. My Pepper has visited me several times but my current roommate has seen him many more times than I have. She told me tonight that she's already seen Starr 2 times.
The first time was when she came home very late on Wed. July 1st which is when I had him put to sleep. She saw him on the catbird house and she thought that I wasn't able to go through with putting him down. Then she looked again and he was gone.
She saw him again very early this morning at the foot of her bed. He just sat there and squinted his eyes at her and then he left. Pepper was also there and they took off together. She said that he now has a much thinner body so his small head looks more in proportion to his body now and his legs look longer and leaner too. I told her if she sees him again to tell him to come and visit me. I'm sure that my cats have already seen him too.
I hope your sightings have given you some comfort, how amazing, how lucky you are to see him like that,if people can be seen i am sure animals can too,:)
Ohh, Tracey I'm so very sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you.
Rest In Peace, Starr.
So sorry for your loss ... {{{gentle hugs}}}
I'm so glad your little guy is no longer in pain.
I'm so sorry to see that Starr has passed away. He was such a beautiful boy. I know the emptiness you are feeling right now.
Rest peacefully Starr
The Dunn gang is so sorry to hear of your loss of precious Starr. We will say extra kittie prayers for all of you tonight.
Oh I am so sorry the hear this tonite... I remember Star mainly because of you being so kind and helpful on here. He was new to you when I was getting Chloe.. I find it remarkable that the two of them went within a week or so of each other. It's so sad...I would always take comfort in his remarkable eyes they just got me... He was a real joy in pet talk and I will miss him horribly. I take some comfort in knowing that maybe he was able to show Chloe around the bridge.. Major hugs from all of us..
