Oh, and I snagged some photos from a local radio station of the original house. :)

Oh Kimmy, I am jealous, jealous, jealous!!!
That show always reduces me to tears - well, a good cry is good for you NO??
Thank you for volunteering - I am so happy you had a great experience.
And THANK YOU for sharing so many pictures. I loved the architectural drawings and I will be anxious to see the show and look for you!!
Wow Kimmy! How cool is that!!! Amazing story, photos, house and everything. Ty is one of my favoritese (hunk, hunk, hunk!!!) and that show, although I've only seen it a few times, always makes me cry. Thanks SOOOOO much for sharing this awesome experience with us!
I have to add my thanks as well. I absolutely love that show and I am also always reduced to tears.
I joke that I have a "thing" for Ty, but Ed is my all time favorite. I am so glad to see him back after almost...um...removing his hand a few seasons back.
I found out yesterday that they are looking for volunteers for a build here in Pittsburgh too.....I would love to do that but can't take the time off from my regular job :(
You're welcome. :D Glad you guys enjoy.
The show always makes me cry too. :o
I watch that show whenever I can catch it. What an awesome thing to do!! Am I the only one who think Ty is cute? Seriously, I think I am. :o Anyway, that's so cool you got to meet the crew. Great stuff! I hope that family enjoys their new home. Do you know their story of why they were on the show?
That's really cool David! If you get a chance, I highly recommend going down and checking it out up close and personal. It's amazing.
Dad worked as a nurse for a local hospital and was accidentally stuck with a needle and died this past January as a result of the virus he contracted (hepatitis c).
And no, you're not the only one that thinks Ty is cute. ;) :D Andy calls him my other husband. LOL!
I've always thought Ty was cute. I watched him way back when he was on TLC's Trading Spaces (I think that's the one he was on).
Oh man... I am in tears just looking at the pictures. That show NEVER fails to give me a good cry.
it warms my heart that so many people are there to help out a community member in needs. I wish ALL communities were like this... the world would be a better place.
just curious... how did you get to volunteer? how did you find out about it. i would love to do something like that for someone else.
I am so impressed! What a wonderful, heartwarming experience!
The EM team was around Philadelphia last year, I think, and I've passed the house.
I have a thing for Ed. Man, when he cut his hand (memories) I panicked. Maybe it's the accent. Whatever, I think he has the sweetest personality.
The pictures are great, Kimmie! And you look terrific in short hair, if I hadn't already mentioned it!
Oh my Gosh!!!!!!! I love this show!!!!!!! I watch it faithfully, you are so lucky!!! Ok all jealousy aside..lol I think it is wonderful you had the chance to volunteer like that, I always cry and I always am in awe at all the people that come out to help a total stranger, it reminds me of what this country is all about. thanks for all the photos.
I like the girls on Extreme Makeover, especially Paige!
Official Aire Date!!
Nickless Family
Nov 30, Sun 8/7c
Ty and the gang travel to Holt, Michigan, to rescue a widow and her three young sons from their crumbling 148-year-old house.
Sadly, life and work got in the way of my going over to watch, but when I was working on the golf course, from about 3/4 of a mile away I heard "Move that bus!" I can't wait to find the air date for the one in Pittsburgh.
Awesome! I was wondering when it was going to air.
Looking forward to watching it. :)
I was just telling Ralph we needed to start paying attention...the one from Toledo was on this past week and I knew they were working on the house in MI just after that so figured it had to air soon!
I don't know if anyone saw the one this past weekend, ( I have it on the DVR but haven't finished it yet), anyway, the fire station they were talking about where the dad works, is the one in my neighborhood...about 1/4 mile from my house. Kinda cool!
Well, we *watched* ... did we see YOU??
Fur sure, you weren't the only one not wearing a hard hat! :(
They really make it hard to see details (and/or People) with their super fast
and choppy editing ... it's hard to scan across a frame before it's GONE!
But we KNOW you were there!
And ya built a NICE House!!
Good Work, Kimmy!!
:D
Kimmy...were you in front of the house digging in the garden? Sorry I didn't go back and reread your info on it, but I thought I remembered something about *planting* you in the garden to dig. :p
It was so touching and as usual, very emotional. The boys were so mature. So sad, so young. They certainly idolized their dad.
It was a great episode.
Lots of tears from hubby and I.
I wonder if we saw you. :)
I looked for you, but it was difficult to tell anyone apart.
I cried so hard on this episode. Some episodes get me more than others. This was a very emotional episode to me.
I also kept an eye out for you but had trouble telling people apart. Either way, I still appreciate you and all the other volunteers helping the Nickless family out!
I am usually pretty good about not getting teary-eyed while watching the show, but this time it hit a bit closer to home. I am really glad such a deserving family was granted this home! :)
Thanks everyone. I was a blubbering mess too while watching it this afternoon. I could tell Tim was a special guy from working with those that really knew him. I also knew LCC gave scholarships to the boys, but I had no idea about the plaque. That was so sweet. LCC is my alma mater.
I nearly made it on screen. When Rib goes out to the Sears truck, I was on the ground in the garden. I'm not on screen, but I'm just left of the camera's view.
When the car is presented and the family is in it, through the back window you can see a group of people. I'm in that group. :)
Again, it was a great experience.
Good job, Kimmy!! Sorry I missed it.
Darn it, NOW I see that it was running Nov. 30th!
Do they ever repeat them, or is it possible to see it somewhere else, on line maybe?
You can go to ABC online.

I am just now seeing this. My mom LOVES that show! I bet that was super fun! Helping people that really need it!
