I have been gone for a few days and am just seeing this. I am so sorry for your loss, you gave Nikki a long happy life and now she is playing at the rainbow bridge pain free. RIP pretty girl.

I'm very sorry for your loss but also really glad she is no longer suffering and you were able to say goodbye. That will help you through the loss, to know at least you were able to tell her now much she meant to you. Good bless.

catnapper, i just saw your post about your vet and that lead me to this sad, sad news. it's so hard having them leave, there are still times when i say.." hey alex, wanna...", then i stop cause peanut comes bopping around the corner. it does get easier. i am very sorry for your loss. kindest regards, joyce

I am so sorry, Kim. Nicki was a "good dog", and who could ask for more? I hope your grieving heart will heal in time and you can remember lots of good things. I have been there, done that, and continue to. I'm so glad that she was so loved. :love:

Nicki is back home where she belongs.... well, her ashes are. They gave me a pretty little red wooden box with a plaque of her name. They actually spelled Nicki right! unfortunately they spelled my first name wrong (I didn't think Kimberly was a difficult name)

I miss her every day in so many little ways. I'll hear a sound coming from downstairs and I think its Nicki. I'll hear a siren go by without a wooooo-woooo-woooo howl as an answer. I never thought I'd miss the 2AM howls in response to a police or ambulance siren but I do!!! Its been very odd to be able to leave the toilet seat up and have toilet paper on the roll instead of hiding it in a drawer.... the bathroom seems so quiet without her. I saw a piece of toilet paper in the hall last night and the pangs of missing her hit so hard. She LOVED trailing toilet paper into the hall..... I don't know who would have put it there since Callie has no interest in toilet paper but it made me miss my beloved girl so much. Did you ever think a piece of toilet paper could bring on such a strong feeling of grief?

Kim, I just saw your siggy in another thread, and I was saddened to learn that your precious Nicki passed on... :( I was still at the clinic when this happened, so I'm sorry for being late.
