I will be thinking of you and praying for you this Friday. You have made a difficult decision and I just pray that the outcome is good.
Jen, I hope that everything will go well and that the tumor won't be cancerous and will be able to be removed. I'll continue to keep Mr. Meow in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care. (((HUGS)))
I am adding Mr. Meow to my prayer list and hoping that all will be okay. I will be thinking of him (and YOU) and praying that the lump is just that...a lump.
C'mon, Mr. Meow, we are all pulling for you!

I've always been under the impression that a tumor that isn't attached to anything, is movable, and is squishy, is less of a worry than something hard and fixed in place. I'm hoping that is what it is in Mr. Meow's case.Quote:

Good luck, Mr. Meow!
Jenn, it is never easy making such a decision. Many prayers for Mr. Meow, and for you, too. I think I read that you wrote that the tumor was " movable." I think cancerous tumors are hard and fixed...

Thinking of you.
A quick update.
He got throught surgery fine. I will be picking him up in about 2 hours.
It was a lymph node as suspected, and it is being sent for a biopsy. Could still be cancer, but at least it is out.
The vet also took a piece of the small intestine to biopsy (IF the other test doesn't tell us anything) This would test for cancer in the digestive track or IBD.
So, we are going to stop the steroid use and if he begins to feel badly there are other types of medicines to try (don't have those details yet).
But my boy will be home and in my arms very soon! :) :D
I Think That Mr Meow Will Heal Up A Lot A Lot Better In His Own Furr Ever Home Where He Is So Loved.
I Know That A Few Of Our Pet Angels Will Come By And Visit Mr Meow To Bring Him Sea Food From Columbia South America To Whet His Appetite!!!
He's home! 10 to 14 days until biopsy results. Pretty large incision, but looks good. Time to deliver all those hugs, kisses and scritchies to Mr. Meow! :D
Welcome back home, Mr Meow!!! :D
WELCOME HOME TO YOUR LOVING MEOWMIE, MR. MEOW!
Please add a few more hugs, kisses, and scritchies from us!
Love, hugs, and purrs,
Pat and cats
Glad everything went well with the surgery.
Hugs to Mr. Meow :)
Happy to hear that he's home again!
So glad that Mr. Meow made it safely through the surgery and is now resting at home with his family. I hope the tests come back with good results and that he will have many, many more years to spend with you. :)
WOOHOO! Give that beautiful boy gentle hugs from me - I hope he has good 'happy' pain meds.
Praying for best results possible on the tests.
If nothing else, that lump won't be pressing on his intestine any more.
Is he on soft food for the next while?
PT PRAYERS for Mr Meow! Welcome home, baby!
That's what will help him heal more than anything. Glad that he's home and that all went well.Quote:

Smoochies Mr. Meow!!!
Jen, I'm glad to hear that Mr. Meow's surgery went well and I hope that the biopsy results will be good ones.:) Hopefully he'll now remain a happy and healthy cat for many more years to come. Please give him some hugs and kisses for me.:)
One thing about IBD testing. When Starr had his done he had only been on a very small amount of pred for a short period of time and I had to stop giving it to him for a week before his surgical biopsy. My vet said that if he had been taking a higher doseage of pred then we'd have to wait for a while before doing the biopsy because the pred would interfere with the biopsy results. Hopefully the depo shots won't do the same thing. Good luck.
Lets see if I can answer all the questions..........
YES = he has pain meds.
He has only eats soft food (meow mix market select, to be exact). The boy will simply not eat anything else!
I know the steroid will affect some test results, we had to do the ultrasound before he started his depo shots. But if you want my gut feeling, it is not IBD.
Glad Mr. Meow is home under your loving care. Hope he heals quickly and bounces back from this. Still praying for this sweet boy!
Can I send lots of hugs to Mr Meow please?
Wishing your gorgeous boy all the best.
I'm so relieved to know that all went well and Mr. Meow is home snuggling with his Meowmie, exactly where he should be! Sending lots of scritchies and lovies! Prayers continue to be prayed for good test results.
Just look at this sweetie!!!
