{{{HUGS}}} to you and Tango. Get better, sweetie! PT prayers are coming your way!
I hope she will be alright. She'll be in our thoughts. Please be something simple like throwing her back out.
I been checking this thread often today. I hope to hear a good update.
Prayers from Alaska for your sweet baby. I'm so sorry to hear that Tango isn't feeling well. Please keep us updated.
Ashley
Oh no! I just got back from a long weekend, and I am just seeing this. I hope that the reason you haven't been able to update is because you are working with your little girl and helping her to get stronger and heal faster. I am so so sorry. Okay, I am off to say some very serious prayers for our special girl.
OMG, I'm so sorry to hear this! I hope everything is ok! She'll be in my thoughts :(
Poor Tango, I am so sorry about this! I hope the poor girls okay!! ((((hugs))))
Many thoughts and prayers for you and Tango. *hugs*
Checking in. Still praying that sweet Tango will be ok.
I apologize for taking so long to update you guys. We spent about 2 hours at our vet, and then had to go see a back surgery specialist, and we sat there for about 3 hours waiting to go into our consultation. She's staying overnight at our vet and then we're going to get some sort of test done on her tomorrow morning (A mylogram I think it was called, but am not sure). We would have gotten that done today, but they said that we'd have to wait until tomorrow. We don't know what the outcome will be as of yet. We can put her through surgery, but the vet/specialist said it's doubtful that she'll be able to run, jump, and play properly again (and that is her life - it's all she lives for). Currently all we know is that she's slipped at least one disc, maybe blew another. The X-ray couldn't show a whole lot. I'll definitely update again once I know more. She's in a ton of pain right now (which means there is probably something else going on - because if she was simply paralyzed, she wouldn't be able to feel much). She bit my mom, our vet, and my dad today. Something she'd never even think about doing normally. Oh, and our vet thinks it's partly herditary and because she's such an active, energetic dog, she could have easily done it by chasing her ball like she normally does.
Thankyou for all of your well wishes and such. They mean a lot to me.
ETA: Here are two pictures I took of her earlier:

We're going to do absolutely everything we can for her, and give her the best chance possible.

:( Oh no, my heart dropped when I read this...Sending tons of prayers your way. Please, please keep us updated. :( ((hugs))
Come on Tango, I know you can get through this, we love you!
I am so sorry about this. :( We'll know you will do everything you can for her, and whatever choice you make, it will be the right one and you'll consider her quality of life. (((hugs)))
I am still praying for you Tango. Giant ((hugs)) and **kisses** coming your way sweetheart.
Dear God,
I ask you to be with Tango in her time of need, lay a healing hand upon her and ease her pain. I ask that you be with the vets tomorrow, help them find what is causing her pain and help guide their hands to correct the problem. Please comfort her family and allow them to feel all the love that their PT friends have for them and the prayers that we are all sending their way. Sometimes Lord we have to make the decision that you have laid upon us and allow our babies to go to the Rainbow Bridge, only you know if this is Tango's time. If it is please comfort her family and help them through that most difficult decision for they love their baby girl and will only do what is best for her. But I pray with all my heart that this is not the case, not now...that she will be better because anything is possible through you.
I pray all these things in Jesus' name.
Amen.
Couldn't put it better than the prayer in the prior post.
Hugs to you and your family. Lots of prayers for Tango. Please keep us updated when you can.
Such a sweet, sweet face... I'll be keeping Tango in my thoughts and prayers. I hope there is something the vet's can do to ease her pain, while also repairing her injuries.
Big hugs to Tango... get better sweetie!
:( Poor Tango, I hope they are able to give her some meds to relieve the pain tonight. My heart goes out to you, this is so sudden. Perhaps tomorrow you will know more after what the tests reveal. I'm so sorry she's ill. She's a strong girl, though, (((hugs))) to you and your precious girl.
~Pat
Thanks for the update. I'll be praying for her tonight. I hope everything goes well tomorrow
Bless her and your hearts! She looks so sad and that just breaks my heart. I just now found out about this. I am so very sorry. I hope the future won't be sad. I just love that sweet dog. Please give her some hugs from me and a kiss on the head. I know how much it hurts. I hope tomorrow goes well. I hope you get a miracle.
I'm so sorry to hear this.
I'll keep praying and thinking of her.
She looks so sad. :(
Oooo.....I am just now seeing this thread!! I am so sorry that our girl Tango is going through this!! I sure hope that there is something that can be done for such a sweet and Energenic dog!! Many Prayers coming your way!!
Sweet Tango will be in my prayers.
That sweet face doesn't deserve such pain - I hope something can be done to make her more comfortable. What a heart-breaking day for you.
I am hoping for the very best outcome for your baby girl Tango and sending lots of hugs and prayers your way.
Lots of thoughts and prayers coming your way.
This winter, my BIL's dog, a beagle mix slipped two discs in his back and had to have surgery. He has been doing wonderful since and although he has a slight limp when he gets tired, he is playful and energetic as ever. I wish the same sort of success and recovery for Tango.
Major LES now. :( You and your family will be in my thoughts through this difficult time.
I am so sorry to hear this news. :( Tango is one of my favorite PT dogs, I know she is loved by so many here. Please know I'm thinking of you and Tango, I'm hoping for the best possible outcome.
I'll be keeping Tango in my thoughts. I'm so sorry to hear she is going through this. She is such a beautiful girl.
Prayers on the way for yoru sweet girl.
Ashley :(
Ugh, I'm so sorry, Devan. I'm really praying hard for Tango, and you and your family right now.
Hopefully the tests will show something positive. I continue to keep you and Tango in my thoughts. I've asked my RB doggie, Sami to stay with Tango and keep her company and provide a measure of comfort.
I am so so sorry to hear about Tango. :( She is such a wonderful dog and I know how much she means to you. My thoughts are with you and I hope for the best.
Thanks everyone. :)
Our vet phoned earlier and said she was doing a bit better and was a little more comfortable and relaxed now (thanks to the pain medication). She still can't move her back end or anything obviously, but at least she's not yelping everytime she goes to move positions and isn't panting and shaking terribly.
It feels so weird without her, and so boring. I can't imagine living without her permanently. She's not even 5 years old yet. I guess it's even harder because Echo was about the same age when she had to be PTS and that's all I can think about.
Devan, can they give Tango steroids to reduce the inflammation to the disc that is slipped? (I'm a nurse) And something for pain? An acquaintance on the other pet forum I read has a dog that had back problems and made a terrific recovery with steroids, pain meds, and antibiotics. It was not a fast recovery by any means though. Please let us know what the myelogram shows. Thoughts and prayers for Tango.
Edited to add: I went to gratefulness.org this morning and lit a cyber-candle for Tango
Think positive. Maybe she won't even need surgery. And if she does it could work out fine. Autumn and Buster have both slipped discs. You can get her a doggie wheelchair if she's in no pain but doesn't recover her walking. The one thing that comes to mind right now is her nerves not coming back as well after such a wait. But positive thoughts are what we need to send for Tango right now.
oh my god Im completely heartbroken at this news. this is so shocking, I cant imagine what you must be feeling, I am so sorry. I know how special she is and how much youve accomplished with her. I hope you will get some good news tomorrow, or at the very least some definitive answers. I will be keeping Tango and your family in my thoughts. :(:(:( ***GOOD LUCK***
I'm so very sorry to see this about Tango! It was hard enough to see my AnnaBelle paralyzed after she ruptured a disc, but at least she wasn't in any pain! It must be awful knowing that Tango is hurting too! :( I hope that is a good sign though, that maybe she won't lose all of her feeling and will improve!
Hugs,
Kim
