Well this poster seems to enjoy posting threads that are alarming. I recently read where he/she couldn't afford a water bottle for his/her gerbil and refused to use a weighted water bowl. If this person is for real, I think they should re-home all of their pets. There is not enough money for proper care. This may or may not be a troll but I for one will not be reading any more of their posts.
I can't tell you how much I love that phrase. Pure genius. :pQuote:

Well, at the end of the day, I hope this dog really is receiving proper treatment and that she recovers.
You rang? :DQuote:

Yes adult dogs, especially those not previously vaccinated can come down with Parvo. If previously vaccinated and they still come down with it, then most likely the vaccination was given inappropriately or was damaged in some way to decrease its potency so as to not invoke an immune response. Given that Parvo is endemic in dog populations most dogs are exposed to Parvo at regular intervals throughout their lives.
In adult dogs Parvo is usually not serious unless the immune system is compromised. The virus itself prefers the very rapidly dividing cells of the intestinal lining in puppies. In adult dogs the intestinal lining is not growing and dividing as quickly. Thus the virus does not propagate as fast in adult dogs, resulting in a milder disease.
Of course all of this conversation is assuming it's Parvo, and instead it could be the equivalent of food poisoning resulting in an intestinal bacterial infection.
In either case the chances are with the antibiotics for the bacterial infection or to prevent a secondary infection as a result of Parvo (or Rota, or Reo) virus, along with a bland precription diet, puppy-dog will soon have all 4 paws on the ground again.
Another PT crisis over!
This is me. I am in a finantial rough spot, THATS WHY! God! How many times do i have to post this?Quote:

Amazing how trolls search the internet for infomation for their stories.
My dog is doing great today. She is eating and drinking normally, although she still has to eat the special food and take the medicine.
I'm in a financial rough spot too, but if my pets really had to go to the vet for an emergency we would find a way.
And if you can't even afford a water bottle for your Gerbil, I agree you need to rehome your pets.
My dad gets paid every friday when we go buy everything we need for the week. What is left over goes into the gas tank. If a situation arises, as in the case of reggie, my dads's boss would lend us some money, which is how we got reggie to the vet.
I would save some up some money just incase this happens again. :) it's always a great idea to have a savings account for situations like this.
Bottom line...I'm glad Reggie is doing OK
hmmm...interesting. You suggest rehoming to him, but you wont even let any of us suggest the same for your pets without getting mad! :rolleyes:Quote:

I bit my tounge at that comment too. I don't see how it's much different other then he's getting money from people he knows instead of people over the internet.Quote:

I wouldnt want to embarrase you by saying yes.
remember our chat?
I asked if your dog had "blue gums" because I apparently knew a dog that had parvo, I was seeing if u were lying or not and u answered yes thinking it was the right answer. So go ahead. IF the very unlikely event that you are telling the truth then I suggest next time your dog is ill you get off your lazy a** and so something about it and not sit online spamming chat rooms with "lol" dozens of times. Sorry that isnt behaviour of someone whos dog is "dying".
No, that IS the right question to ask. I asked the vet.
Yes, your behavior in gabbly was certainly not one of a dying dog. So if this is a real situation, I feel deeply sorry for your dog. For you to be on the internet all day long, and not by your dog's side helping him. Or even calling all your local vets to see what they think you can do to help him. I'm sorry but if I was in you shoes, I wouldn't care how far away the vet is, I would walk there. That's why your dog is suppost to be your best friend. But offiously not yours in this case.Quote:

Again.. everyone just take a deep breath, calm down. No need to cuss at anybody. It just gets you nowhere. And Reggie, just to prove you are not a troll, show us pictures of the things the vet gave you.
That way, everyone can stop arguing. Arguing also gets you nowhere.
And nobody take this as another ironic post. I would say the same thing in my own personal conflict, but things are actually getting places. Here, we are getting nowhere.

Oh, yeah. And, i have yet to tell the vet our new adress so that is not our adress. And, if you look at the date you will see that that page is current.
P.S. sorry about the quality. I only have my crappy camera because mt dad had to borrow my good one. But if you want i can try to scan the medicine bottles label to get better quality.
Look....I'm a broke college student with a dog and NO JOB. When he got sick I started walking instead of driving, increased the deductibles on my car insurance, sold almost 30 of my DVDs and a BUNCH of my other stuff while eating ramen and handouts from my understanding friends. I borrowed and begged and pleaded. Lo and behold, the $375 vet bill was paid off inside of a week.
If it happens again, my computer and net connection will be gone along with a few pieces of my jewelry, and furniture if I need to...in a heartbeat.
I'm sick of hearing people whine about not having any money to pay vet bills. It's just money, what's that compared to a family member? It's not impossible to find some on short notice. It's not even that difficult most of the time. If you truly can't come up with a small amount when your pet is in a potentially LIFE-THREATENING situation, perhaps it is time to find someone who can.
I told everyone that if another situation was to arise my dad would borrow money from his boss.
I hope that your poochie gets much better soon Reggie and with lots of prayers you will be able to come up with money no problem and your doggy will be healed:)
I'll pray for your dog.:)

OK everybody really needs to stop yelling at him now he had proof that she saw a vet and he was only trying to tell everyone how good she is doing now and everyone is still being mean about it. It would be different if he didnt have the proof so please just stop with the mean comments. I am happy Reggie is doing better :)
Anyone notice on that invoice that the vaccinations are all almost a year expired or am I the only one? Sorry can't help noticing things like that, reminds me of recieving faxed records at work, I'm trained to look for things like that to bring to the dr's attention. lol
I noticed that as well but thought better to keep my mouth shut.Quote:

Dogs are low cost, low maintenance when young. When they get old, that's when the Vets catch up on the revenue side. You really need a Reggie fund set up now via a part time job. Expenses are not going down in future years.
