On what kind of car did you learn to drive?

My van I have now. A 1995 plymouth mini van. I love it!

My Dad took me out on the road in the family car, a 1965 Buick LaSabre`

I can still remember turning the key while saying,"I'm nervous", to which he replied, You're nervous?? :D It was an Automatic, boosting a Wild Cat Engine!!

Later on, I drove an older VW Beetle~ So Chica, I can relate to stopping at an intersection atop a steep hill and hoping that I can maintain the flow of traffic when the light turns green!!!! :D That car was sooooo much FUN to drive!!!

It was white, huge, in perfect condition and I loved it. When I went off to college, it became MY car. I kept it until we had to move to Germany in 1988 and it was still beautiful at 25 years old. Oh, and her name was Bessie Mae :D

Gosh, David, you are bringing back memories! My sister's first car was a green Ford wagon! It was my dad's old company car and he bought it for $1000 and gave it to her. She ended up with the Chevrolet, though, when he bought a new car for my mom. My dad was a toughie and gave both us $1000 towards a car when we were seniors in college. She took the $1000 car. I took the $1000 gift and paid him back the rest, after I graduated, for a 1975 Dodge Omni that he bought for me when I was working an internship after my junior year in college.

I don't remember how bad the gas mileage was on our station wagons, but I'm sure it was no worse than putting gas in our Ford Expedition that we have now. Thank goodness that thing stays parked most of the time these days. We'd sell it if we could, but there is no market for a 2002 gas guzzler like it is, right now. My husband paid $500 for a Ford Ranger pickup truck last year and he drives it all of the time these days. He loves it! :)

A red Ford Falcon, not sure about the age. 1970 when I got my license so the car was probably 1967-1968.
It was my mom's car. I got to drive it to school on occassion when she wasnt using it for the day. Mostly, I rode the yellow school bus. I loved it when my best girlfriend got her own car. :)
