Thinking of you!
:D
A little update again. Yesterday (sunday) evening she was running in the yard playing with Nebo. I was out with them, I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I think she went to run under the deck and she slammed into either the wooden post of the deck or a rock under the deck. All I know is that she started screaming her little head off and she was holding up one leg, I had to crawl under the deck to get her out. :(
After she calmed down she seemed ok, I can move the leg around and she doesn't act like it hurts, and there's no swelling. She's a bit of a drama queen so I didn't know how bad she hurt herself, Nebo has ran into things in the yard before and acted like that then been fine later. I thought she had stopped limping that night, but maybe I just couldn't tell, because when I got home from work tonight I noticed she's limping. She can put weight on it ok, but she just limps. She acts normal, playful, eating ok, etc. I'm actually having a hard time keeping her calm she wants to run but I don't want her to hurt herself more.
The vets are closed tonight and I'm not sure if I can get her in there tomorrow either, I have a really busy day scheduled at work. She has an appointment on Wednesday to get spayed. I have a feeling that's not going to happen again, but we'll see. So if I can't get her in tomorrow, I'm going to have her leg/shoulder (I'm not sure which is hurt) x-rayed on wednesday. As well as a blood test again to see if her white blood count is back to normal, and if everything is ok with that and her leg, then to get spayed too. So if you could please keep her in your thoughts and maybe say a prayer that she will be ok, I would appreciate it.
*!##@!!*x^^!* Ouch! Note to self: Gotta remember to duck!
Hope little Miss Kevious is ok. Huskies can be quite the drama queens  , but chances are she is fine if she wants to go play again already. We'll say a little prayer & send good vibes, hope all goes well on Wednesday. :)
From here too. [[[hugs]]] to Keva, Nebo and their special Person, Wolf_Q!

Being a Drama Queen must be a Husky trait ...
reminds me of Shadow (Husky/Shepherd, RB :( ) when she broke her back toe ...
She played that Woe IS Me tune for MONTHS!
She'd be trotting along on all 4 happy as a clam till someone would ask her
"How's you paw, Shadow?"
OMG! Her reaction was almost instant - pull up a paw and *hobble* on 3!
Her problem was she lost track of WHICH ONE was supposed to be the injured one!
She lost her sympathizers when she had to try *limping* on each paw to
see which one got the best reaction.
Hopefully your lil Drama Queen has no more than a bruise or minor sprain.
Ask the Vet if you can give her a plain Aspirin for pain relief and to reduce any swelling.
Oh no Keva, I hope you're okay. You have to be more careful.
I hope she will be okay and will be able to be spayed this time. poor girl must have hurt herself. I will say a prayer that everything will be okay and nothing is wrong with her this time around! :) (((HUGS))) to you both!!
Oh my gosh, Phred, you've got me ROTFLMAO! I can just see it... :rolleyes:Quote:

I had a kitty once that knocked herself out - she was running full speed through the house, hit the kitchen linoleum, and slid under the stove. She tried to duck, but there just wasn't enough clearance, poor kitty. (She recovered :) )
Just sending some good wishes out for Keva, Amy. She's just a frisky little girl and she wants to play. I hope everything is okay with that cutie pie tomorrow. Can't wait for the update. :)
Sorry to have just seen this, Amy. Hope Keva is doing better and you can get her to the vet. . Kiss her boo-boo leg for me.
Gosh, poor you and poor Keva. Haven't had the best of luck so far.
I hope her boo-boo paw is nothing serious.
Huskies... drama queens? Never!
Oh you silly girl!
You have to look where you're going when you and your brother are chasing each other around!
I hope you're feeling better!
Poor poor Keva. I hope the meds work and that she's better enough for the surgery. Hope the leg isn't hurt too seriously. Paws and fingers crossed!
OMG! Same thing happened to a friend. His dog fell down the stairs and broke her leg. Once it fully healed, she forgot which one was hurt and will limp on one or the other when she wants sympathy or attention. It's soo funny. :DQuote:

Drama queen? Nah, just looking for the appropriate sympathy when there's an actual ouchie! Better than than the "strong silent type" where you don;t notice anything is wrong until it has gotten even worse.
And yup, Bruni (RB Saint Bernard) had the "wandering limp" act perfected after Dad clipped a toenail a little too short one day because somedoggie wiggled, and she got sympathy afterwards. Wasn't her fault she couldn't remember which paw was theoretically sore when I visited? The first time it happened, I said "Dad, what's wrong with Bruni's paw? Aww, poor Bruni!"
Dad looked at me and said "Absolutely nothing, watch this. Sit, Bruni!" paused a minute, "Okay, c'mere girl," and sure enough, the limp that had been affecting the right front paw was suddenly affecting the left rear paw.
Well she's at the vet right now. I'll pick her up around 5:00 pm. So far everything looks good. She weighs 31.1 lbs, normal temp/heart rate/etc. She is no longer limping and the vet felt her leg and moved it around and didn't seem concerned about it. She passed the blood test, so she's getting spayed today. Of course I'm worried, but hoping that everything will be fine.
As a side note, I just found out that my boss's husband just bought his kid (who can't take care of a fish mind you  ) a husky pup that looks just like Keva. I'll try to get pics when I see her, and maybe when Keva is better they can play together...honestly the first thing I thought when I heard this is "Is he insane?" but we'll see how it turns out. I would love to take her if it doesn't work out, but my parents would kill me.
I'm glad Keva's leg is ok. Silly girl will have to remember to look where she is running.
I'll keep my fingers crossed until we hear that she is home!
Paws crossed for that pretty girl. It's hard not to worry, isn't it? I know you'll feel better after 5! PM!
good luck Keva! Rusty is at the vets getting neutered today as well, so I know exactly how you feel right now, I'll be sitting here nervous until I can go pick him up after 5. maybe Rusty and Keva can keep eachother company in their slumber ;)

Thanks everyone for your well wishes to Keva. They said they'd call when she was out of surgery, but I forgot to ask approximately when that would be. Here's a pic of her I took right before we left:

She's home and doing as well as to be expected after surgery. She's sleeping on a blanket in the kitchen. I'll post some pics later.
I am glad she is doing well! Feel better soon, Keva! :D
That's great to hear! If she's anything like my girls, she'll be up and ready to go tomorrow. Then the fun begins, keeping her from running around. ;)

They didn't send her home with one like they did with Nebo, and she's too sleepy to bother the stitches yet. But knowing her, I'll be buying one at work tomorrow. :rolleyes:Quote:

I always wished I had an endless tape recording of "LEAVE IT!" ... "QUIT!"
Can you haul her with you to work? Or can Mom be Puppy Sitter for the day?
Enjoy the sleepiness while it lasts!
:p
Yeah I'm going to take her to work with me tomorrow and friday, my mom will watch her on saturday and I'm home sunday. I can buy an E-collar right there at work, which she will hate for sure. I have Nebo's from when he had the lump removed on his leg, but its too big for her.

A LOT more comfortable AND they don't get hung up on everything in the house.
Ask the Vet if they have any to "LOAN Out".
;)
Good to hear she's home & doing well. Kisses to that little sweetie!
Woohoo! Way to go, Keva. I knew you'd be just fine. I'm so glad everything's looking up for you. :)
