It's been a while since I've bought anything fun for myself. Usually my money goes to things like groceries and gas. I'm pretty sure that these plugs were the last fun thing I bought for myself.

I bought chinchilla food, people food, and treats for Jasper.
Oh, I also bought a dog tag that's shaped like a little tiara and says "Her Majesty" in pink script for the dog that I walk, Daisy. :)
last I bought .. oh my.. umm.... oh, my thunder car! I think before that, I got an american eagle (live your life) shirt.
I swear I never bought anything or even a snack when I was in california for ten days. :o :o
but... I promise you, next thing I will buy .. american eagle clothes! :D golly, haven't really shopped for like three years or so. except that "live your life" shirt.

I do not see my paycheck - it goes directly to my parents. They take out whatever they need and then I get whatever's left.
You don't know me lady so do NOT talk to me like that. Not only is it incredibly rude and uncalled for but I have no clue why you are pulling that out of your ass. I suppose this attitude from you doesn't surprise me, though. Typical.
 That was very rude and uncalled for.Quote:

I did return something to Bealls and got the money back on a gift card, so I guess I can go find something nice for myself there. :)
By the way, Kay, they sell flippys at Walmart for $3 or $4 I think. I bought mine from there because the ones at Petsmart are so expensive.
And Simba looks great in that collar ;)
Wow, Donna. That was completely uncalled for. Your intention may have been to sound like a responsible adult, but all you came across was bitter.
My recent purchases? Mostly diapers, baby food, formula and bills. But I guess I handle my money well enough that I also managed to get a new outfit to wear to my 10 year high school reunion this Saturday. (10 years? ) I also plan on getting some hair dye at Target tomorrow so everyone there can recognize me (I'm blond right now, naturally a dark brown).
Thanks Sarah - Yep, Ki has about 4 flippys from Wal-Mart. This is one I've been wanting to get her for a while. It's a lot more durable and will last longer for sure.
I was so excited that I finally bought something nice for myself (the purse), sorry someone had to be a kill-joy. I usually go shopping and end up putting half of my cart back by the time I got to check out. However, this is one thing my cousin wouldn't let me put back and I actually bought it. Everything else I had picked out was for the dogs or someone else.
That makes sense, Ki seems to use her flippys a lot more than my dogs do ;) Mine just fetch them from the pool, otherwise they could care less about them.
I do the same thing at stores. I don't hesitate to buy things for my dogs when I know they'll enjoy them but I always hesitate for myself. I always worry that I won't get my money's worth, and then I think about how long I had to work in order to be able to afford it, and I end up putting it back :p I especially do that with clothes.
Kay, you really don't need to justify anything. It's apparent that you have a good handle on your finances so that you were able to spend a little bit of money on yourself. Good for you.Quote:

Wooooow  And if you look in this thread she's not the only one 'splurging' ;) Why choose her out of the other 20 people?? Totally uncalled for in my opinion. If you have something against Kay (or somebody else!) you could always talk it out in a PM and not be totally disrespectul and ruin a fun thread. Just my .02.Quote:

Yesterday I spent $100 in vet bills for Nanook.
Tonight I am getting a new to me (used) freezer, although it is not for me per say, it's to store the dog's food in. It's a smaller one, not exactly sure but it is about 4 cubic feet I guess. It's only $35 but I'm going to see if I can get it for $25 as it is not self defrost and they have to have it out of there by tonight and I am the ONLY person who is interested in it. As long as it works I'm getting it.
In a way this has already paid for itself because of all the free meat I have gotten in the past & will continue to get in the future.
I am also pitching in some money for some flowers for my grandmother, who has advanced alzheimers. The doctors gave her about a week left to live, this was 2 days ago. :(
I just spent $85 today on new front brakes & rotors for my car as well as some stabalizer thing for one of my front tires. The pads are under warranty so when I return the ones that are on my car I will use that money for the back brakes.
Next week or the week after I'm getting 2 new back tires for my car.
My van is up for sale :( once it sells I am splurging, I am getting myself a hair trim and a new pair of sneakers. Haven't had either in a year or more. I am also going to get my sewing machine repaired. The rest of the money is going to bills, food, vet bills and house repairs.
I'm sorry Donna, but I agree with the others. I can NOT afford anything extra either yet I kept my mouth shut because of 2 reasons. #1Other peoples lives are just that, none of my business, and I am not going to just assume things either. And #2, this is a fun thread.
Lol, Sarah, we have the same mindset when shopping. And generally I refuse to buy it unless it's on sale. If it doesn't have clearance, reduced, etc. on it it's generally not in my cart. ;)
Today I am buying a tile cleaning machine for my grandmother for her birthday. It's around $160 but myself, my cousin, and my parents are splitting the price between us.
Sue, I'm so sorry about your recent happenings. {{HUGS}} to you and your family.
I forgot that I purchased new collars for my babies.
This one for Luka

This one for Mandy

This one for Nova

And this one for Buck

They all came from 3 Dirty Dawgz. They were shipped yesterday, I can't wait until they get here! :D
Same here! I am really indecisive sometimes. :pQuote:

I know, I had a really hard time choosing! I've been wanting to order from them for months but couldn't make up my mind :p I'll probably end up ordering more later. :D

loved everyones collars and clothes!!!
Just shut the sarcasm... geeze.

I thought this was going to be a fun thread :(
Now lets all get back to the fun and not the rude

-4 pig ears
-A Gentle Leader*for Maggie*
-Rat Bedding
Since when aren't we able to say ass when it fits? I've never known PT to be full of gratuitous swearing but to let one "drop" once in awhile has never been looked down upon.Quote:

Donna, I really like you but that was really uncalled for, there must be a history with you guys but that was way out of line.
I just bought 2 bras. :o
And a fake engagement ring....long story. :D
Well by the time I've paid tuition, fees, supplies (and I don't even have them all yet), and a book that was about $2000. Not exactly what I wanted to spend my money on, but that was the most recent. Today I bought b/w film and paper, matt board, x-acto knife, sketchbook and some film negative sleeves, exciting huh? ;)
Next week I get to spend $500 to get my car fixed, woohoo.
I can't afford it but I'd really like to get a force dryer (for dogs). Nebo really loves swimming now and when he swims he gets hot spots because I can't dry him off well enough with a towel. So I'd like to get one of those like we have at work to keep at home for that purpose, plus I can blow out his coat more often and help with shedding. But the one I want is $267. :(
Sarah, those collars are just beautiful! I LOVE the designs they have! Very lucky pups you have! ;)
I think I am going to have to get some for my girls!
My friends refuse to shop with me lol. I do the same thing. My mom gets POed at me too, so I usually just go alone :pQuote:

Yes buying off e bay can be tricky. I spend more on clothes that dont fit me, than the ones that do. BUT I dont have an Abercrombie and Fitch store here, so I have to shop online to get them. And most of them are actually more expensive than buying from the store, but it is cheaper than driving 3+ hours to get to the closest store. :)
I usually DO NOT buy any used clothes(most are new with tags), but some are gently used. And I have only had a few people send me old clothes that are not just as nice as new. Then you leave bad feedback:)
Lets see more of what everyone is buying. I am actually looking at the threads and marking what I want next:D
Well, this has been an interesting thread to read! First, because of the content of the conversation . . . second, because I LOVE TO SHOP!
Sure I have TONS of bills . . . I'll be paying hospital bills forever, and then the mortgage, car payment, groceries, vet bills, CAT FOOD! etc . . . but then you have to live a little.
I love ebay! My recent purchases have been:
black enamelware coffee & sugar canisters
and this - Punched Metal Star
I just redid my bathroom, so I've recently bought new rugs, new white eyelet shower curtain, new window curtains, new faux wood blinds, paint & a wall hanging to go on the wall and some other little decorations. (I don't even want to think about how much money I spent on that redo)
Big spends? Back in May, I bought myself my birthstone ring, something I have always wanted, and think that I deserve. It's probably a 3 carat, emerald cut aquamarine stone in the center with a blue topaz stone on either size (also emerald cut) . . . definitely a splurge :)
Oh, I forgot to add . . . yesterday at Walmart, I bought a new curling iron, LOL (mine was fried!) . . . a new Spinbrush toothbrush & some new headbands that give me a migraine . . . and I bought some stuff for the house, you know, non-fun stuff that has to be bought, LOL. :D
I forgot one of my most recent and exciting purchases. Maybe I should first say that I work, and pay rent, car insurance, student loans, utitilies, groceries, pet supplies... just so that no one accuses me of having it easy.
I bought plane tickets for Alexa and I to go to Vegas :) We are going at the end of October to meet my sister for her 30th birthday :D .
So I'll have to go shopping soon, maybe pick up a new polo or two at Abercrombie.
Here's what I bought today:
For some of the pets:
5 cans of Pro Plan dog food(they were on sale)
12 large crickets
1 tub of mealworms
a box of Blue Dog Bakery molasses and peanut butter dog biscuits
a package of beef dog training treats
For the kids back to school supplies:
Watercolors
6 pink pearl erasers
And for myself I bought an electric pencil sharpener, so I don't have to sharpen 60 pencils with a manual sharpener. It was absolutely worth the $15.00. :p
I bought the last 3 seasons of MASH to complete my collection.
LOL did that once a while back, such fun I had LOLQuote:

Kay, I meant to say to you that I think you are being very responsible and I am certainly not questioning how you spend your money! I see that the offensive post has been removed, but it is sad that it got to that point.
I like this thread, actually. It is fun to see how the rest of your splurge, or don't splurge. I have a new driver in my house, so things have changed a bit around here!
