Like everyone else with multiple cats, it varies.
NewCat - in the hall as I walk in the door, dancing around my feet, but quick rub on the head only for now.
Big Ted - a lump under the bed covers, bleary eyed as he reappears but ready in seconds to demand a tummy rub.
Ginger - sound asleep on the bed, deaf and unconcious of my arrival, then a sudden head jerk perhaps an hour later and "oh, you're here, then pay attention to me".
Those three are free-fed because of Ginger's age.
The four downstairs are not free-fed, so:
Tom - rushes at me, desperation in his eyes. Food! Food! Now! I'm dying of hunger! I open the door and tell him to get some fresh air instead.
LOS - also rushes at me, rearing up for my hand. Runs here and there wondering "Should I go outside, it smells interesting." "Should I demand more attention?" "Am I hungry?" "Do I want to try and get upstairs?" Round and round she goes.
Taranis - on the bed, avoiding LOS's gyrations, but her eyes demand food as soon as possible.
Macduff - stands back but his golden eyes are fixed on me, longing for his special attention, talking, fussing, tummy rubbing.

With Fister it's "Come and brush me"
Later: "Move the things on your desk and make space for me under the lamp" - leave the papers, I want to lick those!"
"Mom, come to the bathroom and turn the faucet on!"
After dinner: "Let's play now, throw the ball of yarn, and I'll find it."
Before bedtime: Mom, it's time for bed, I'm sitting right here waiting (impatiently) for you!"
He's so sweet!! :) :)
