Thanks for all the suggestions. Sounds like from some of your experiences keeping them on a diet while free feeding may be possible. I just hope the gang agrees.

Oh Lori, it broke my heart to read how my Rumor was so traumatized from going to the vets. My poor sweet baby girl. I hope she is doing better today.
Please give her kisses and hugs for me, okay.
I'm glad to hear that the R & R's are doing well, except for being a little full figured. They really don't look fat at all. Gosh, if your vet thinks that Rumor is big at 11.5 lbs and being over a year old. Imagine what my vet is going to think of Willy being 10 lbs at 9 months.
I also free feed, but started giving 1 scoop in the morning for all 5 cats and then 1 scoop again at night. They also get some wet food about 3 times a week. One small tin for the 5 of them which lands up being a little less than 1 tablespoon for each.
I'm sorry I can't be of much help since I have a 14.5 pounder here! ;) I'm feeding Sash light food and trying to feed him more canned food also, that might be helpful if you don't already feed canned. Rocky and Rumor look as beautiful as ever! :)
