My dream dog:

:D
When I was young, I always dreamed of an Old English Sheepdog. Doris Day was very influential. :) I just recently went out and got the DVD set of Doris' TV show, partly because of Doris, but a lot of it was because I wanted to see Lord Nelson the Old English Sheepdog in the show. He is just as gorgeous as I remember. But Old English Sheepdogs aren't my dream dogs anymore. I realized the grooming was too much for me and I also realized I wanted a dog like Lassie in temperament and intelligence.
That was really a lot to dream for. Unrealistic really. But here I am with a dog that proves that the Lassie mystique is not a myth. I have been blessed with 4 incredible dogs. Maddie, my soulmate dog, who I still think about everyday and miss terribly. Murph, my lil' ray of sunshine, who brightens up every one of my days. Gull, my lil' comedian, who fills the house with laughter. Does it get any better then that?
Enter Oz, my lil' Lassie dog. It was too much to dream for, but yet here he is. He fits in anywhere with anybody. I can take him with me in any situation and not worry. He's the center of attention, wherever we go and me too by default. I love that. He looks out after me and Murph and Gull. He talks to me. He loves me.
Yesterday morning, I woke up to him barking. I was half asleep, so I thought he was maybe barking at the kids outside playing. Told him to go back to bed. The barking persisted. You'd think I'd learn wouldn't ya, not to be like the stupid humans on the Lassie TV show. But yet there I was, trying to get him to stop barking, so I could go back to sleep. Well before I knew it, he was whacking me in the head with his paw. Whack, Whack, Whack... Whine, Bark, Whine. Hey we got a situation here, that needs your attention, Mom. Welp, I'm wide awake now, so I finally get up to see what's up. Sure, enough he wasn't crying wolf. Murph was sick. I tell ya, since getting Oz, I have such a feeling of safety and security. Anywho, does it get anymore dreamy then this? Not for me. :)

Par...
My own dogs. Nothing can compare.
BUT, for the sake of this game...I really want a Flatcoated Retriever, or a fast breed for flyball (like a border collie..but maybe not)
Par, I LOVE the fawn merle smooth collies so looking at your Oz really makes me want one NOW! Collies are another one of those breeds I really like, though no one really knows it because I have kind of tried to stop talking dogs with my parents.
This one....
