I will certainly add Phred to my prayer list. Am hoping the news continues to be good and that they do 'kick him out' soon.
Thank you so much Staci for posting this on the cat side for us .... I am so bad about not going to General often enough, and I would have hated to miss this! I am so glad to hear the encouraging update on him as well!
Sending prayers that God will continue to work a miracle in our special PT friend and return him home soon to his loving companions!
Get Well Hugs to Phred!

oh it is so good to read an update! Thank you so much :) It sounds like things are going pretty well and yes, hope he is soon "kicked out" of the ICU and into a regular room.
That is good news about Phred!!! I like what the nurse said about " kicking him out !!!" Defintley, prayers for healing are coming Phred's way from NJ!!

Get well soon Phred. You have helped so many of us in such a caring and loving way. We try to give something back to you right now. I'm sure it will arrive. :)
I called the hospital - took me 11 min. to get through to someone in his unit. I spoke to Phreds good firefighter friend Pat, he really is nice - have known Phred since about 76. He persuaded Phred to come along to the hospital, together with his brother Tracy? who is in the MT. They were ready to force him if neccesary. Phred was in his driveway at the time it happened - thank God! He had a very high BP he told me. He also said they started him on IV's - whatever that is.
He said it was a close encounter and a major warning, and that Phred is not completely out of the woods, so please keep sending all your prayers and good thoughts! Phred is awake and conscious about what's going on, the nurses are great, and he has got his color back, and is only getting liquid for nutrition so far. He will be going on a diet. When he gets a room of his own, he will probably have to stay for about 10 days.
Cinder, Smoke, Bowser and Boots are well cared for, and Phred is in a good spirit - joking like always :)
Pull through this, Phred!! ... even if you do have to stop smoking, and eating healthy. We're all rooting for you!!
I believe Phred needs some piece and quiet, but I'm sure he'll be happy to have messages passed on. :)
IV's (short for IntraVenous) is when they give him nutrients and fluids intravenously, through a needle stuck into his veins.Quote:

I'm glad to hear he is in good spirits and joking around.
Please Phred listen to what the doctors tell you. You will have to make some major changes, for the better. PT needs you around for a long, long time and so do your dawgs and of course Boots.
Prayers still on the way.
Oh, how terrible!
Prayer on the way to you, dear Phred!!!
For all of the support Phred and the firedogs have given us, we return the favor and ask that he be healed and restored to his beloved pets, where he belongs.
Whoa! That sounds scarey!! Thanks for sharing it with us.
PHRED!
You GET WELL and stop being so stubborn!;)
Get well soon, Phred!
