I can't really tollerate people being afraid because I'm not really of anything and that is something I have to work on. When people are afraid of Niņo I tend to walk twards them. When I bring him to the PLAYGROUND I have kids ask me if he bites when they are standing right next to me! Why would he be at the playground if he bit?!?!?! When people act scared sometimes before I know what I'm doing I'm saying loudly to Niņo, "That's so MEAN to be afraid of someone with out knowing them!" I get a lot of, "Dalmatians are snappy and bad with kids." to my face!!! Even though he's NOT even mixed with dals.
When kids and moms are petting him and they ask, "whjt breed?" and they hear "pit bull" as part they just about run away. Keep in mind they were ALL rREADY petting him!!   :(

yup zoey always barks when people come on our probery, but t.j on the other hand just runs over and wags his tail.

Most people aren't. This town is flooded with animal lovers. We have like a bajillion vet offices here. There is the occassional person who is afraid, and they're usually afraid of Mandy because she barks at people sometimes ... especially people with large hair or hats. Luka will bark at people too but I haven't had her long enough to have any experience with people being afraid of her. Nobody has ever been afraid of Nova. She runs right up to people with her tail wagging 150 mph (just a guess ;) ) and the biggest smile on her face and she just loves on them. Who could be afraid of that?
-
people get quite scared of what they dont know.. ignorance is a bliss.. many people will ask if Tikeya is a wolf.. Also people often think Baby is agressive, and she is far from that.
-
Oh Corinna, I could never be afraid of those cute furry faces:D
Oh yes, most people are fearful of my dogs (but I voted sometimes since not everyone is).
With Bon, it's the size.
With Roxey it's the eyes (beautiful eyes...who could be afraid of her...she loves everyone!)
And with Huney it's just because she's a chow:rolleyes:
-
Some people are afraid of Roscoe, but not as many as I expected when we first got him. He's a pretty big boy (85 lbs.), but his tail is always wagging and he just looks happy, ya know? LOL. We do get some people scared of him, but it doesn't really bother me. I just show them that he is friendly :)

It's funny, most people are more scared of Nanook & Kaige than they are of Raustyk & she's a Rott.
-
Yes, especially for Sam and Casey. Sams just a huge mutt, he can be intimidating. And Casey is a German Shepherd...people usually ask if she bites. She does get nervous when people approach us on walks and will bark sometimes, because usually I'm a little nervous too. ;) She hates when stangers stand there and laugh at her.
Boomer, not so much, but he dosen't much like kids he dosen't know, so he's the one I would be careful about. -shrugs-

Oh! But I hate when people absolutely aren't afraid of your dog, and your at Petsmart or at an event and people are walking by and put their hands on your dog. It's just like whoa, you're a very brave person. There's no way I would touch a strange dog without at least saying something to the owner. My dogs arent going to do anything, most likely, but you have to wonder what these people are thinking.
-
I have a rule that I never tough a dog unless they touch me first, and never at dog shows. You never know, Layla was a fear biter and we had people cumming up behind hear and touching her and then yelling at us that she tried to snap at them.

Hey anna66 I thought you'd like Dugan just think a 150 LB Huney. Newfy and chow He has the chow bounce in his walk so funny to watch him walk from behind.

I voted Yes , because almost everyone and everywhere i go people are afraid of my babies, on walks, they will walk to the other side of the street especially with Senorita, and even when we are driving i will have the windows cracked so the babies can get fresh wind and at stop signs and lights i have had people make comments about rolling up my windows with viscious dogs that i have, when all my babies will be doing is enjoying the breeze with there eyes half closed not even paying attention to the people, so basically these people go mainly by the way they look, most people will be excited to see Face and say"oh its a Rott" but they wont come close (which is fine by me)
And then no one knows what breed Senorita is, they just see she is giant with cropped ears and fierce eyes and they make all sorts of assumptions.
It used to bother me but now not as much.

There are some people who are afraid of Bull but I think it's mainly the pit head. I've had people say to me they were afraid while we are walking towards them but once we got up close they could tell he's not all pit and were ok. Like if he was all pit he would tear their leg off (maybe if they had a steak in their pocket but he would feel bad about it afterwards ;) )
We have a sign on our door that says "Watch your Step - Sleeping Pit Bull Beware of Attack Cat" :D

Voted sometimes. Most are disturbed by Kia's eyes. I think for some it's her size though I don't think of her as a big dog.
She's been called a devil dog, spawn of Satan, and a dangerous wolf among other things.
My sister was bit when she was younger and she's apprehensive around any dog she doesn't know. Once she gets to know the dog, she's okay.

Actually YES!
Some people say that they look mean??? Whaaa?
