OMG! My heart was beating so hard as I read your post. Poor, poor Mimi! :( THANK GOD you showed up when you did!!! Poor little Mimi. I can't imagine how terrified she must have been. Hope those dogs won't EVER show up again. Kisses and scritches to little Mimi.
-
I'm so glad you & Helen arrived in time. I would have been frantic too.
Such a scary thing to have happened. Take it easy sweet Mimi & stay safe.
Something like that happened in the neighbor's front yard several years ago.
I noticed two stray dogs flipping something into the air & thought in was a
rag or someone's doormat. By the time I got outside it was to late for the stray cat that they had come upon. :( I chased the dogs away from the body and buried it out back.I was upset for days & I didn't even know any
of the animals. :(
-
Oh, my goodness!
I've got tears in my eyes just reading this even though the sweetie is ok.
I'm sure she does have guardian angels. At least two: you and Helen.
Please give Mimi a head kiss or hug or both from me, ok?
-
What a scary situation. I am so glad to hear that Mimi is okay and that Helen overcame her fear of heights to rescue poor Mimi out of the tree.
Hugs and kisses to your sweet Mimi.
Do you think that this will make her a little leery now to go outside?
-
Dearest Mimi....
Darling, I am sooo glad you are safe in the loving arms of your family. I don't know WHY you don't believe me about D O G S! I know what you are going to say...the ones you live with are very nice and just big ole heating pads for you. But trust me....they are the exception. Now let's practice that Stranger Danger thing again!
Gratefully,
Winne...

A Pox,on these Idiots who let thier Dogs roam loose, like that.
One day,it may be a child that they maul.
If these Dogs are strays,a Doule Pox,on who ever abandoned them,to this fate.
I am glad that Mimi,is all right,and its a shame,that she will have,to stay inside,for safetys sake!!
-
Oh my! Poor Moimio! Poor meowmie! I hope she's ok, and that the dog ever comes around again.
-
Oh No! Poor Mimi! And poor you and Helen too!
I'm so glad that you two got there in time to rescue her.
Don't be surprised is she is afraid to go outside for a while.
A few years ago Samantha got in a fight with a big tomcat from up the road right on our front porch.
She was afraid to go outside for months after that.
I would spoil Mimi and keep her in as much as possible and only let her out when someone is home to keep an eye on her.
Hugs to you Logan, it must have been so scary.
I'm happy to hear that sweet Mimi is ok.
-
poor MiMi.
I am glad the little sweetheart is ok.
Will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
-
Oh, Logan - thank you for posting as you did, with the "all clear" at the beginning. Even still, my heart was in my throat as I read on. Poor Mimi! Lots of snuggles and skritches to Mimi, and a big bracing hug for Helen, for doing the climbing despite her fear of heights. I'm not afraid of heights, but my Mom was, and know it is no joking matter.
Now, Butter - next time Mimi goes out, I want you on guard cat duty - those are dogs you are allowed to inflict damage on!
-
Karen, I think Helen probably inherited that fear of heights from her dad, and I guess a bit from me, too. Although I love rollercoasters, airplanes, tall buildings, etc, climbing ladders, getting on the roof, and some of those "team building" exercises where you walk tight ropes and things like that, scare me to death! I kept telling her "don't look down". I would have climbed that ladder in a heartbeat to get to Mimi, but Helen wouldn't hear of it. And it all worked out. Thank God!!!! :)
Mimi is doing just fine. She has gone outside a couple of times today, but only on the back deck and in the back yard, and funny enough, as one of you suggested, Butter has mysteriously been very close by. Good boy!!! :) That same good boy bit my toe tonight as I was going to prop my feet up on one of the empty chairs (or so I thought) while Helen and I were eating dinner tonight! :D Feisty boy!!!!!
I wish all dogs could be as gentle as mine are. Of course, my dogs have learned very quickly in their lives exactly who is "boss" in this house and the cats definitely rule, and they have claws and will use them if necessary.
Thank you all so much for understanding the situation and not passing judgement. We learned a very tough lesson yesterday and will be more aware of where the cats are going forward, before we leave and while we are at home.

Whew!!!
I missed this post somehow. So glad that Mimi is okay, and brother Butter is being protective. What a horror to go through!
So glad all is well now.
-
I'm with everyone else...my heart was in my throat while I read your post. I cannot imagine what went through your mind when you pulled up to see that terrifying sight.
Thank God Mimi is doing all right! It is amazing what we can do during emergencies.
Give that sweet girl lots of headbumpies and scritches from me and the boys.
(((((hugs)))))
-
Oh my gosh, I'm so glad she is okay. Poor Mimi, and everyone!
-
I'm so glad that Mimi is okay. Have you asked around the neighborhood about the dogs? The owners might not be aware that their dogs "wander" during the day and might be able to do something about it so that this doesn't happen again.
