No its not. I am not stating that Chow Chows are horrible and aggressive. They were bred for guarding so thats a trait they have. And I am not saying her dog is aggressive. I MENT to say they are aggressive at times.

uhm, ok. Your words were ~ Chows are known to be aggressive. You didn't say they're "horrible, aggressive" dogs, but you DID say they are aggressive. Basically every one of the working breeds was bred to guard, as were most of the Herding breeds and even sporting breeds. What I'm saying is that this most likely isn't about the breed, it's about a dangerous situation for the dogs and the kids. Even a Yorkie (NOT bred to guard, obviously), when chased and backed into a corner by a child, is very prone to nip them in a situation where they feel the need to protect themself.
jchines32 (the at sign) gmail.com..... Please don"t worry,my hound could play rough also ,the lacerations to your child might have came from the pets claws,my oldgirl sliced me open alot when playing and I mean sliced,my wife would get very upset with me about it,but it was"nt from being aggressive she just knew she could play rough with me,but she had these claws that were long and sharp and she would put her paw on my arm and curl her nails in as to say hey I"m here pet me and would easily slice my arm open and I bled alot and probly should of had stitches many times but I"M a farm guy,but I do understand the concern for the child,I myself got down on the floor and rough housed with my olgirl and she would stickout her paw to bat at me like a cat and she has layed my head open a few times but being my age was able to react quicker were the child may have got the full force,I"M not saying it isnt possible of a bite,a dog is a dog we really cant say never I"M just saying the can play rough and its not a aggression rough of my experience I had my olgirl 11 years and she was the best freind I ever had here on this earth, there isnt enough space on here to tell you all the great things about her,as far as the taste of blood therory a male may be deferant ,but my sissybear, blood didnt any effect on her,and she had to eat everything I did, like I said I cant tell enough but if you would like to here more I have alot of things good to tell you about this breed of pet. you can reach me at jchines32 (the at sign) gmail.com thank you for your patients
I don't blame the dog or the child, I blame the adults. This dog was clearly giving signs of having enough and the adults did not pay attention and allowed the child to torment the dog and the dog did what it felt it had to do. Unfortunately now the dog is going to be labled aggressive all because the adults did not properly supervise the child and dog together. I am sorry but 13 staples in this child's head was not a little nip and it makes me really angry that it was allowed to happen.
When my dogs are at work in the assisted living, they have their place they can go to get away from people, it happens to be on a dog bed under my desk, when they are under the desk, it is offlimits to everyone but me. If my dog goes under the desk they are telling me they have had enough visiting and they need a time out. Your dog did the same thing and her wishes should have been honored and the adults should have kept the child away from her. I also do not allow children at the assisted living to chase or follow my dogs, if my dog comes to them and wants to be pet by them, that is fine but I will not allow children to torment them, that is not why they are there.
You as the dog's owner and the parents of the child should have been in control of the sitsuation and you were not, sorry to be so blunt and I am sure I will offend, but this was your fault not the dog, not the child.
