It's been a while since the last time I posted on this topic, and I had to go back to see what Honey's latest victim was. Well, she did beat the rat. She got a possum about a month ago. GROSS!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/eek.gif I have a fenced back yard in a subdivision. I never expected all these creatures. I have to say that my cat doesn't help, because she brings her victims to the backyard as well, and then the Golden Retrievers carry them all over the yard! Funny, they stick to their retriever instincts and never chew up anything. I certainly can't say that for the cat as some things come "headless"! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif
HAPPY HALLOWEEN from Logan, Honey, Lilly and Mimi!!!! (and Helen)

Thank you all for making me feel better. In one the the topics I mentioned the critter from under the neighbors bushes that he dropped on the porch. I thought it was a glove (dark) so instead of taking him thru the house I had to force him w/food to drop it and I nearly fainted, died, screamed, barfed. It was already dead but I saw more animal entrails than I ever wanted to see. Ha Ha, I didn't kiss that face for days either! If he had eaten it, and chucked it, I swear, I would have had a heart attack. The stories are funny later but not at the time. With these lovely, tasty thoughts, Happy Halloween to everyone too!! Love, Karen and Cody

Su,
Oh my goodness, I want a clone of your
GSD. hehehe
Unfortunately all my dogs have a high
prey drive. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/frown.gif
I was so upset when I found a dead squirrel
in my back yard, and I almost lost it when I found a possum in the middle of the lawn. Thank goodness it was playing possum
and was alright. (I thanked G-D for that one).

Thank tatsxxx11, and a safe
and happy Halloween to everyone too.

Safe an Happy Halloween from Labs Bailey-Boo and Heidi too. Yes that is really Bailey's nickname http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif
Luckily for me they have never brought anything to me that they shouldn't have, they are very good that way.

Ahhhh, Halloweeen! The best time of the year for my dogs -- doorbell constantly ringing and all of those cute little faces to lick! My two have never brought me any "treats" like some of yours have so graciously done, but I'm sure it's just because they're too lazy to go out and get something. They'd rather wait until some creature crosses their paths. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif Happy Halloween to good doggie friends and all of their humans!

KYS,
My possum was "playing possum" too!!! I picked him up in the shovel and threw him over the fence and told my daughter that if he was still there the next morning, we would bury him. HE WAS GONE!!!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/eek.gif Bet he won't come back near my house. Honey and Lilly rolled him all around the yard like a soccer ball!!!

KYS,
I was surprised that she did not hurt them. I expected to go over and find a dead bird, but instead found one with just a wet face and in shock!! The chipmunk was cornered and I thought he'd be a goner, but she just licked him and let him run off and she did not chase him!! She destroys all her squeeky toys, though.
Happy Halloween to all from Su, Killian and Shiloh!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/wink.gif

Hannah and Tucker do a lot of chasing of bunnies, squirrels and chippies, but so far haven't caught any. There was a dead chippie laying on the lawn and of course Hannah couldn't resist investigating and flipping it in the air. I'm sure she wanted to carry it around some but with me screaming and doing my maniac crazy lady routine, she couldn't quite concentrate. I know the whole neighborhood heard "No, No, No, Hannah, No, Leave It, Leave It, Leave It"
Yes, tonight will be a real joy. Every single ring of the doorbell will be accompanied by bark, bark, bark if my two hold true to form. I'm trying to get my strength up with a few Hershey bars right now. Happy Halloween from Rachel, Hannah and Tucker

Countdown and dreading it. Poor Cody will be in lockdown. God forbid the doorbell rings and strangers enter his domain and maybe hurt his people. Oh Lord! I need a Valium. The kids come sporatically or not at all so poor thing is trapped for hours. Sigh! Two tears in a bucket.

Rachel and Karen,
Yes, I'm the grinch too, not the one who stole Christmas, but the Halloween grinch. I am not looking forward to all the barking either. If I would crate them, it would be worse. I hope we all survive tonight! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

I was to chicken to pick up the possum with
a shovel. My husband said if he was still
their in the morning he would put him in
the trash can. Good think I was to chicken
to pick him up that night or the poor Possum would have taken a long drive to the Dump.

Well, made it thru another Halloween! Had MANY trick or treaters and of course, my dogs didn't think anyone was going to hurt their humans - they just saw it as an opportunity to lick little kids. They even managed to dip their heads in the treat bowl and steal some Smarties when we weren't looking.
