Thank you, everyone, for your messages. I'm still stunned, yet grateful, that it has been less than 24 hours and it's over. Murf is now resting next to his kitty friend Daisy, and they both are where the sun will warm them and butterflies will dance for them.
I still have my other kitty, Winston, and he's due for double doses of love and care in honor of his "big brother", Murf. Thank you again for your encouragement and words of care!
I just wanted to express my sympathies to you. I can't believe how quick that happened!!! I hope you can find some comfort in the fact that he did not suffer very long and that he is in a better place and that you did all you could for him. I'm sending you all the prayers and hugs I can send.
:( :( :( I am so sorry for your loss. Murf will be missed. :( :( :( Know that we are all here for your support during this difficult time.-- Kate
I am so sorry that your sweet cat Murf who was your friend died. It is so hard when we loose a pet after all those years of having them around to love. You gave him a good life and loved him very much and that you have to remember. Will send prayers your way.
I'm so sorry to hear about sweet Murf. My thoughts are with you.
{{{Pam}}} Holding you, Winston, and Murf in my thoughts and prayers. Give Winston extra cuddles for me, okay???

Oh Pam, the tears are streaming down my face...I am so shocked and saddened to hear of the very sudden loss of your dear Murf. You were so lucky to have known the love of such a beautiful, gentle, sweet "1st kitty." And how fortunate was Murf to have known the love of a such a devoted, caring Mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your familly and Winston during this very sad time. Bless you sweet Murf. Romp joyfully again dear Murf at the Rainbow Bridge, basking in the sun and dancing with the the butterflies along with your kitty pal Daisy, until you are your Mom are together again. Love, Sandra, Mr. B., and Oliver
Dear Pam, I know this is a sad, sad time for you, and it's difficult to find the proper words now as I try to comfort you somehow, and though tears may run freely now, I'm sure you can't help smiling (even through tears) when think of Murf. He'll be always in your thoughts and continue a source of brightness throughout your life.
A big healing purr from Sirocco and all my sympathy.

Dear Pam,
I'm so sorry for you. It's terrible loosing your cat, I lost mine last Christmas. Time heals the wounds and the beautiful memories remain with you forever until you and Murf meet again.
I didn't see this post before, but my thoughts are with you.

I just read thw whole story and I have tears in my eyes. One of the hardest things is to loose someone you love, and I can feel your pain like if it was my own. I don't know what I'll do if I loose my babies.:(
I hope you will be better soon.
Take care of your self and of Winston
Oh Pam - I'm so sorry about your precious Murf - I guess I just got so wrapped up in my own stuff that a completely missed this. Please know that my prayers are with you in this time of such a terrible loss - I'm so sorry - Bless you and you're in my thoughts.
HUGS!!!!!!
Murf is feeling better, I'm sure. I wish the best for you in the grieving and rememberance that will follow. Try to think of him in his prime, hold close that which he has left in your heart.

Pam, I don't sign on anymore but my roommate brought to my attention the thread started by fairlady about seeing our pets in heaven so I am just hearing the terrible news.
I am so sorry about your losing your baby Murfy Smurfy. I also firmly believe we will see our pets in heaven. There really is a Rainbow Bridge, even if it's not exactly as described in the poem! Every Christian knows there are rewards in heaven based on our obedience on earth, and one of God's commands was for us to husband the animals. I believe our reward for doing that is that we will see the animals we loved and cared for for their too-short time on earth.
Give Winston extra hugs. I usually tell people at this point to consider adopting another homeless kitty when their period of grief is over, but I have a feeling you will be doing that anyway.
Love and hugs to Pam, Winston, and Murfy, and God bless you all.
