I just received an e-mail from Starr's foster mom and she said that he's doing well. He hasn't broken out any more and only has bald spots now. She's heard that it usually takes 4-6weeks for the ringworm to be totally gone so I hope that's true. The original kitten that had the ringworm is also doing well and his fur has started growing back so that's great news.:) I can't wait to be able to finally be able to bring Starr home again.:)
Wow I didn't think it took that long. But I'm glad to hear Starr is fine so far. You must miss him- because I miss him already;)
It will be a very happy day at Starr's palace when Starr comes home.

Hmmmm I wonder if putting Starr on L-lysine would speed up his immunity to kicking the ringworm? :confused: I know it takes a while to work in kitties, but is a widely used amino acid many find very helpful. Clear up little handsome guy so you can go to your forever home. :)

Starr is adorable its funny that you say that you are having a hard time getting the coccida Chloe had that for almost a month of meds. He looks really good though. Did he manage to get dehydrated or anything from not having an appeitite. Keep a good eye on that Chloe had to go 2 times to get subcontanious fluids under her skin. It is amazing how they finally gain weight and become a little kitten (that feels well) their true colors come out its great. I found my little girl would play ALL night. Like she was trying to make up for lost time. You may see this too. They are well worth the time to heal. I just wanted to tell you that I have a soft spot for siamese and he is adorable. Good luck with him.
Thanks everyone.:D I hope that he'll remain coccidia free and that he'll be able to come home with me again in 3-4 weeks if not sooner. I'll keep you updated as soon as I know anything.:)
Hi! As a matter of fact, I was asking about your Starr. Problem is, this is my son's computer and I usually get pretty caught up in Cat General. Mike is great about letting me have plenty of PT time. So glad to hear that little Starr is on the mend! I know each day without him seems like years, prayers being prayed that your furbaby will be back with you very soon!!! Thanks so much for the link. I feel better about Starr now.....

Hi, I received another e-mail from Starr's foster mom and she said that he's doing well and that some of his fur is starting to grow back. The bad news is that now her own adult cats have picked up ringworm too. She went to her vet and he prescribed program pills for all of the cats. She pilled all of them on Monday night and needs to pill all of them again in 2 weeks. She said that if Starr continues to improve then he may be able to come home with me after he gets his second dose of program. I'm trying not to get too excited yet because I don't want to get my hopes up and then have something else happen to him. I also don't want to rush anything because I'd hate to bring home a kitten that was still contagious.
Sounds like there'll just have to be a lot of patience and waiting on both sides before you can be together again. And you're right, these things can't be rushed. Wishing you and Starr lots of love and healing and patience right now, and a happy, loving reunion in the not too distant future. This must be very hard for you!:( Thinking of you and that beautiful little blue-eyed white kitten, he is SO gorgeous!:)
Well drats Tracey, I was hoping this latest update was that he was coming home.
Hang in there. Growing his hair back and no new breakouts sounds like the tail end of it.
