Over $500.00. Our Gidget after having 2 babies tried to give birth to a stillborn a week later. Off to the emergency for a c-section. She was great though, had the c-section came home that afternoon and continued to nurse and clean her babies (kittens).

Justin jokes that we should have part of his paycheck direct-deposited straight to the vet.
This month, so far we've spent over $500 at the vet. $200 was for Bitsy's and Nacey's vaccinations, heartguard, and Bitsy's allergy pills. The rest (about $350 thus far) was for Roxy who has been having a lot of problems. We will be taking Roxy to a specialist who charges $100 just for the office visit.

About $1000 for Penny when she was sick a couple of years ago, the Vet could not figure out what was wrong with her which nearly killed her . Ended up being an infection and the vet only decided to test her at the last minute when she was very sick .
I wont see that particular vet anymore, i dont trust her :(.

I think in the beginging of finding out Tristan ( Golden/ Chessie) had Lymphoma last August - the bill from the initial visit to the oncologist was over $700.
in 5 months of treating his cancer, I think I spent between $4000 and $5000 .
Thank GOD and all my Golden Retreiver friends, someone sent me to IMOM ( In Memory of Magic) a charity that helps pets whose people can't afford those kinds of huge vet bills.
IMOM's Mission is:
"Helping people help pets. To better the lives of sick, injured and abused companion animals. We are dedicated to insure that no companion animal has to be euthanized simply because their caretaker is financially challenged."
IMOM is wonderful - if you ever think you might not be able to cover some disaster with your pet - please bookmark their website - it could save your pets life.
http://www.imom.org/
And if you are one of those who are lucky enough to have the resources for such emergencies, bookmark it anyway - a friend might need it someday.
IMOM is a non-profit, 501C charity, meaning that donations are tax deductable, and they do wonderful, meaningful work for pets in need - including rescues and emergencies. If you donate to pet charities, please consider donating to IMOM ......
