My daughter bought the easy share, no zoom last october with some birthday money. We liked it so much I got it for my other daughter for her birthday...its really easy to use and takes pretty good pictures, I had got my daughter a different camera for her birthday and she took it back and got the easy share...she said the other camera washed everyone out to much, I can't remember what that was.
Personally, I'd go for the second one - with the higher optical zoom.
I have a 5 megapixel Nikon Coolpix 5700 pro myself, and I LOVE it. It's not really easy to use though - you have to know something about cameras. Too many knobs and buttons.
It really comes down to how much you wish to spend and what you intend to take pics of.
I have looked at this particular model myself and as it is within my budget would buy it.
If you are wanting pics with a great deal of detail then you need to spend more.
The pics I post are from my fathers camera which cost around $800 NZ dollars, for me it is too good a camera, it shows every single detail, which is fine if you are taking pics of your jewellery for insurance purposes, but honestly I have yet to see a flattering pic of myself on it, lol, it shows up every blemish you own and I sure own some.
One pic I posted of my mother's cat even showed a hair off her blanket that was on her nose, so that is detail.
Choose wisely and enjoy your new camera.
Rachel, I bought the cx7430 last night and so far I really like it:) I'm not sure how many pics it'll hold with that size card because I have a 512 but mine holds 307 on the best quality and over 630 on the lowest so a 128 is probably 100-200 pics less I'd assume. I'll attach a picture I took of it last night, lol it's not the best since it was dark out and I didn't center it well but it shows a lot of detail. Canon's are probably a little bit better but they're almost double the price and I found that the kodak was a little easier to use.
Uh, Canons are VERY simple to use. VERY user-friendly, I taught myself how to use it.
Out of the 2, I'd pick neither. Get a Canon :D
They're very simple to use, I know that. It's not as if If said they weren't, all I said was that the kodak was a bit easier. Canon's were my first choice but as I was playing around with both a Canon and mine they didn't really seem to be a whole lot different except for that fact that the Canon was a lot more expensive.Quote:

I have a Kodak EasyShare CX7525 (5.0 MP) and have been very pleased with it. :)
I found the Canon PS80 for around $40 more than the price she listed. You said they "aren't quite as simple to use" which I disagree, because i've used numerous Kodaks and Canons, Canons were easier and IMO better quality.
Anyways, I remember using my friend's Kodak camera and one thing that I noticed about it right away was it's durability. It felt VERY plastic-y and cheap, like things were lose inside.
What a like most about my Canon is the swivel LCD screen, works well for different angles. :)

I have the CX 7330,and it takes excellent Photos.I would spend,the extra 30,and get the Cx 7430.Please,get rechragble Batteries,and a 56 MB Memory Card,My Camera,can hold 50 Photos.But I think,that the Cx 7430,can hold more.I love Classic Country,myself,especially Western Swing,Gosd Bless Hank Williams Sr.,And Spade Cooley.

Hmmmm.. I wonder if it's a small sized camera.. or just a decent sized... I think it is the same size as the 4.0 MP I looked at the other day.. very nice, too.. but I just had to go for the 5.0..
I enjoyed reading through this thread as we are planning on getting my sister a digital camera for her birthday. We have a Cannon powershot A80, but it's a little too expensive for us to buy her. We are looking for something $200 or less.
