Like Donna, I am sitting here crying as my heart is breaking for the two of you and for precious little Heather.
Willie, I'm glad you posted and all though heartbroken, you got to love this little girl for a little bit.
Kim, as others have said, please do not blame yourself. It was NOT your fault at all. Blame that idiotic woman who lied to you.

I'm so sorry to read this about baby Heather.
As for this foster person, I would recommend asking for vet receipts if you choice to deal with this lady again in regards to another kitty. Certainly, I would make it known among the other foster people that this women you dealt with cant be trusted with her word.

How terribly sad Kim & Willie. :( I think we all fell in love fast with that tiny Heather, but Moosmom took the words out of my mouth, especially regarding distemper. There's very few kittens that can survive that awful virus, and I have lost quite a few to that insidious virus. RIP Baby Heather, and please don't blame yourself Kim...how were you to know? :confused: :( Willie, I know your heart is aching for just that special baby, and with Kim living in a rather short distance away, I'm sure you'll be first on her list for a baby to love. My heart's aching.

But, she was a lucky little kitten thanks to the both of you...her angels. She got to spend her last moments in your love and she couldn't have been luckier.

Kim, how could you have known? It wasn't your fault but I can understand how bad you feel. I would feel the same way even though I couldn't have done anything to prevent it. Don't blame yourself and remember that some things just happen and there is nothing you could have done to change it.:(
Willie, God love you, what a bad time you are having. You poor thing! It will get better Willie and know that we love you and you are in our thoughts and prayers. This precious little girl was just needed at the RB and had to go. She must be awful special and I'm glad you got to meet her.
At least something good came from this and you and Kim got to meet.

We don't know what to say...so sorry you two had to go through this. Thank you both for trying to save little Heather - you did all you could.
Gosh, I'm struggling with words right now and don't know quite what to say.
Kim, first off, you have nothing to feel bad about. Your heart was in the right place and you were misinformed. That's not your fault. Secondly, you only tried to help Willie. Her heart is breaking from the recent loss of her pup and you were only thinking of her. God bless you for that.
I do believe that little Heather was not meant to spend her life down here. God must have had other plans for her at the RB. Perhaps at this minute, she is greeting some sad hooman with a broken heart who is passing over the bridge now. Hold on to that thought and know that Heather will grow up to be healthy and strong at the RB.
