I do take my baby Otis with me on vacation all the time! We are always walk him on the leash, but absolutly loves it! And if we aren't walking him he is always be my side, walking by me side. Somestimes he dosn't come with, like when I went to Yellowstone, he didn't come with. But most of the time he does. Usually we mostly go camping, and he always comes with.

Mila does not travel well. She is the first cat that I have lived with and her aversion to car travel came as a big surprise.
I have lived with 3 labrador retrievers over the years and a walk on a leash and a ride in the car was a HUGE treat for them.
When Mila came to live with us,I assumed she would be the same. Silly human!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/redface.gif
I bought her a little kitten harness and a leash and tried to take her on a walk. She refused and I got the cold shoulder for a few days.
I also tried to take her for a ride in the car. Mila was NOT impressed.
When we go on holidays we leave Mila at home. My mother comes to feed her everyday and play with her while we are gone.
I think it is a bit of a holiday for Mila too!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Merlin used to go with us, but he is just a stay at home type of guy. He likes to go to the bank about 3 blocks and thats it, why too nervious paces the whole time. He thinks he has to be here to protect the house and shop. He would drives us crazy to go any distance. We have a neighbor( who he adores and she spoils him rotten) thats comes and lets him out and changes radio or tv for him every couple hours.

Hannah is Miss "I gotta go potty", before we are even to the end of the block. It drives both me and my husband crazy. Tucker is so good in the car and just sits looking out of the window, that I think he would make an excellent dog to travel with, that is except for his separation anxiety, which would kick in if we tried to leave him alone in a hotel room and then he would bark his head off. The only way it would work is if we were with them 24/7 and might as well stay home for that.
