I know! :) the whole time I was there I was thinking, "Gonzo would love this SO much". He really needs a bunch of acreage to run on! It was so pretty there, there's huge trees everywhere, and we got to see some of the Redwoods on the drive up. there are literally no trees where I live in Cali, they've all been cut down ;) I think our house is barely a 1 acre lot, and thats big for this area...Quote:

I wasn't aware that Greyhound racing is still legal here. I'll have to check into that.Quote:

Here, it costs at least 800k-1million for a newer house on a few acres, there it costs 100-200k .. and it seemed so much cleaner and more environment-friendly there. The drive was SO boring and monotonous though! lol.
Giselle, I saw a Grey Park right off of Highway 5... don't remember the name though . I did hear that Oregon is one of the few states were Greyhound racing is still legal. Personally, I think I'd still prefer lure coursing ;) that's amazing to watch!
I'm from California, and have been here in Oregon for 5 years now and will NEVER go back. It is cheaper to live here, no taxes except cigarettes and alcohol, and it is MUCH MUCH cleaner and safer than California. It's absolutely beautiful here! :D
I love Eugene! And yes, if you come back stop by! LOL! Freckles loves company...way too much sometimes LOL. :pQuote:

I'm convinced- Oregon is for me. City areas are only good for shopping. Amen.:pQuote:

I'm pretty sure Greyhound racing is still legal in OR, but Multnomah closed down a while ago. My uncle called to tell me that and I was devastated. Multnomah was 100% adoption and mostly everybody thought it was a model Greyhound race track. (Jcsperson knows more about this.) I like lure coursing, but the dogs that can actually physically compete in the sport is very minimal. The sport is *very* demanding and track stars aren't always lure coursing stars. Again...difference in opinions and build. Me, I like NOTRA and LGRA. It's like Greyhound racing except all purebred sighthounds are allowed and there's no betting. It's mostly a Whippet thing, though:p
