Leah, Sorry about your things. I have an "items of sentimental value" box that I sometimes pull down from the closet. I love going through those old items and taking myself down Memory Lane. Even people who are not very sentimental can become attached to certain items. Of course, I really could throw some stuff out. I am a total pack-rat and if I were to move tomorrow, it would probably take DAYS, lol.
Niina, WOW, it's right around the corner!! Congratulations! You'll make a beautiful bride! :)
ARE CASPER AND KITTY IN THE WEDDING?
WONDERFUL NEWS, CONGRATULATIONS!
Dear Gini,
I've got to admit, I wondered that too. My imagination ran amok a bit. Here is one scenerio:
His ring is attached to Casper's collar, hers to Kitty's. Church doors and windows safely closed, the ring bearers are set loose and scamper among the guests. Aurilophobe guests respond by climbing upon the pews and shrieking. One cat hunkers down, the other pelts up and down the aisles, mimicking the shrieks of some guests. Members of the wedding party try various gambits to attract the ring-bearers. MASS CHAOS!!! :eek: Eventually, with the guests in a state of uproar, C&K are captured and the ceremony proceeds in a state of high nervous anticipation. Most of the wedding party are bushed, the rest extra-fluffed and lashy tailed! {While, I can picture it clearly, this may not be the dream wedding you have in mind. Perhaps C&K will not be part of the wedding party? :D }
Best wishes to you both, and may this be the start of many years of happiness together. I have marked my calendar for a catnip and bubble festival -- your wedding has already inspired (small, restrained) revelry around the world. Cyberhugs to you both! {{{Caspar & Kitty's parents}}}

Thank you. Casper and Kitty won't be there, but will get a special treat on that day of course :)
WOW! You must be really excited! My fiance and I have just set the date for 7th September and already there seems like not enought time to get everything done.
Hmm.. Romulus and Digby in the wedding, let's picture this briefly, two "slightly" overweight Labradors trying to greet every guest despite our best efforts to call them!! And what would they wear?!!! Nope, I think the special treat idea works best!!!
Well, I hope your day is wonderfully special!! :D
Leah - I know exactly the sadness felt when losing precious items. Several years ago my place was robbed at Xmas time - I had just bought a new stereo system that was stolen - all my jewelry, which was mostly inexpensive stuff but there were gifts from people that meant alot to me - my class ring was stolen and several other items that meant a lot. I've never gotten over that.
This year when I opened up the box that has my furbabies Xmas socks in it - I got depressed because there was Jessee's sock (I lost her in March) and I just didn't feel like putting out the others :( . Besides I have 3 new furbabies this year and I havent had a chance to get socks for them. This will be the first Xmas without Jessee (my seal point Siamese) - I miss her a lot.
Purrley, last Christmas I was grieving over the loss of my beautiful black cat, Magic. And this Christmas I am without my calico, Patches. I miss them both so much.
But last year, Karen (bless her heart) suggested that I put their stockings out anyway. And celebrate the wonderful memories of two beautiful cats I had for many years.
Actually putting the stockings out helps.
Mr. Rascal has a stocking but it doesn't have his name on it yet.
Of all of the "things" I have ever lost, losing my pets has been the hardest.
Gini, I didn't know that you lost Magic and Patches, I am so sorry, but I am glad that you have Mr. Rascal to keep you company. You are right, in the long run my pets are most precious to me, all else are just things.
Jackie
Purrley, Put out the stocking for Jessee and write a special message for her in it.
Sorry Sammi - it would hurt too much to see it hanging knowing she's gone :( :(
