Jen
We went through this with Porch and it's well worth all the $$$, if needed (which I know you know that). It was a success and Porch is still with us. I wish you the best and hope Rutherford can avoid having the surgery.
Well, he has only a slight reprive. He DOES indeed need the surgery, but we still need to find a surgeon. He can have it done by surgeon #1 on Feb. 14th, but we'd like sooner if we can get an appointment with surgeon #2. I will hopefull know tomorrow.Quote:

He had an x-ray taken today. He has TWO stones blocking the urethra AND a huge one (well, huge for a kitty) just sitting in the bladder. :( he will need not only the P.U. but a SYST-otomy to remove this larger stone.
Back to watching his every pee movement. :(
Rutherford is slowly becoming the $6 million cat.
Poor Rutherford. I hope this is all resolved for him soon. I'm sure it's not comfortable.
Jen, I'm so sorry to hear that Rutherford also has stones as well.:( These are the calcium oxalate stones and this is what they thought that Storm had but it still hasn't been proven yet. Hopefully you'll be able to find a surgeon to perform the surgery soon. Here's a link that tells you more about the calcium oxalate stones:

Rutherford's surgeries will be tomorrow. (Friday Feb. 4)
Good luck, Rutherford!
Jen, hang in there, this will all be over before you know it. :)

Good luck young man! Is it the vet they were thinking could do it or somebody else?
Awe, poor Rutherford. Get well soon boy and good luck with your surgery tomorrow! Keep us posted tomorrow please!
Aww, poor Rutherford, poor Jen!
I'm sorry that he has to have this surgery.
My thoughts and prayers are with your precious boy tomorrow.
Prayers and positive thoughts on the way that all goes well with Rutherford's surgery tomorrow.
((((((HUGS)))))) for you Jen as I know how worried you must be.
Jen, once again I'm sorry that he has to have surgery:( but I'm glad that he won't have to wait too long either. Lots of prayers and positive thoughts are being sent your way. Please keep us updated when you can. {{{HUGS}}}
Lots of positive vibes coming Rutherford's way for his surgery today! :)
Jen I haven't been able to post in a couple of days but I've been lurking when I can. Please know that I have been sending prayers for Rutherford but I will double up on them for his surgery today. I hope this takes care of everything and poor Rutherford can feel better.
Keep us posted Jen and hang in there! I know I would be a nervous wreck!!!
Somehow I missed the update! I think regarding the stones which always bear the risk of blockage the surgery is the right option. Because a blockage is life threatening.
I wish you all the best and keep my fingers crossed:)
