I'm so sorry about your KiKi. I'm glad he won't have to suffer. I had a KiKi as a young child that I never got to say good-bye to... so give KiKi a final hug from me, and hug him once for my beloved KiKi as well!

I'm so sorry. Give him lots of love and hugs before Friday.
{{{Big, and gentle hugs to you both}}} Treasure your time together. I think you'd doing the best you can so he doesn't suffer more, but it's got to be hard. {{{}}}
I am so sorry to hear this. I had to put Mercedes, my 16 year old schauzer down one year ago this month. It is so hard and my heart goes out to you. ~hugs
((((((Carla))))) I am sorry to hear that KiKi's time is almost up. My RB Bert also developed a large cancerous tumor - on his lung - also at the age of 16, and the time came when I also had to make the decision to let him go. I took my daughter Missy out of school since she was also very close to our cats - and brought her to the vet with me. We both stayed with him as he was given the shot because I wanted him to hear our voices and feel us stroking his fur until the very end. I am SOOO very glad that we did this and I know it helped him to not be afraid. He simply slipped into his final sleep. I know how much you will miss KiKi because even some 7 years later, I still miss my Bert and sometimes cry to think of him. But, I also know that my decision was made in his best interest - because he had trouble walking and sometimes even breathing. It was time.
We brought him home and made a nice box for him and my older son dug his grave. We buried him near a window - at the head of my bed. My son also scraped his name into a rock:) Now, he is joined by RB Ernie and there are two white memorial stones that my hubby made and a tree that my daughter planted - once a foot tall and now bigger than the house!!
Yes, please relish these last days and revel in all the years and happiness you have shared. I wish something I could say would help you not to hurt but of course that is not possible - thank you for sharing the pictures and some of your memories here:)
Carla, Kiki's markings remind me so much of my R.B. kitty "Inky". I have to bring over his pictures, so you can see how similar they look. I know my sweet Inky Doo is waiting to welcome Kiki with open paws. Not to mention the many others, some gone before thier time. It is never easy saying good bye to an old and cherished friend. :( We'll all be there for you, and I'm just a hug away. ;)
Thank you everyone so much for the kind words on KiKi.It helps so very much.I cannot go with my husband Mike to put him down because I just had Spine Surgery but KiKi loves my husband very much even though he's only known him 6 years.I trust Mike will say and whisper his name just like my KiKi likes to hear.I love you all for the kind replies.:) :( :) Carla
:( I'm so sorry about Kiki. :(
Please take care.
**Hugs** that bought tears to my eyes. Most, if not all, of us here know what it's like to lose a loved kitty. I know you'll give your furbaby lots of cuddles and kisses before Friday, and that he'll be waiting for you at the bridge!
Carla,
I'm so sorry about Kiki. He looks well loved, and he knows it. At least he has had a very long and loving life with his Meowmie. My heart is with you in your time of need. I'm glad to see you're keeping him comfortable and very happy. I know it has to be as difficult on you as it was for me to put my beloved dog Rocky down. I had him for 20 years. :(
~Big long and tight hugs from my family to yours~
I'm so sorry :(
