I think adopting is the best way to go. :) But then I am biased since I'm a reascuer!
Right now I have a lil black and white kitten who I think looks like your Rupert

PLEASE ADOPT FROM A KILL SHELTER!!! We have 2 hymalains in our shelter right now and some beautiful other persian type kitties with wonderful personalities... For everyone you adopt, it opens space so that another can live...
WELCOME!
Getting a second kitty is they best thing you can do (but with 15 cats, I too am a little biased) And PLEASE rescue (adopt) don't BUY! My "mutt" cats have the greatest personalities. And all different. Breeds are nice to look at but the more people seek out breeds (even through a rescue) the more likely unecessary breeding will continue. (as long as there is demand, there will be supply).
So happy hunting and I can't at to see who you find (or should I say, who finds you)
:D
A big Hearty Welcome to Pet Talk.
Your Rupert looks like a real cutie patootie.
I am 100% behind everyone when they say to adopt from a shelter and i'm so glad that you decided to pick an older cat.
My Katie was adopted from our SPCA from a rescue organization, as she only had 1 more day left before she was to be PTS.
Katie was only 11 months old at the time. She was at the rescue place only 3 days when I came along and adopted her. She will be 14 years old in October and she has been such a joy since.
She is my little lovebug.
I hope when the day comes when you decide to adopt a companion for your Rupert, that you will share your happy day with us.:)
Please adopt from a shelter. There are so many kitties waiting for homes, and I think they are really grateful when they get their forever home. It may take a while for them to come out of their shell, especially if they are in a cage. Good luck!
Welcome to PT!! I think you have heard every great reason there is to adopt from a shelter and I echo each and every one of them. I volunteer at my local shelter and there are some of the most wonderful cats I have ever met living there! I would love to bring them all home!
I would suggest one thing when you decide to go check out your shelter. Don't set your mind on anything particular and just go through and love on all the needy kitties. I promise you that the cat will pick you and you will know it's right!! You will connect with the one that is supposed to come home with you. If you set yourself to certain breeds or a certain color when you go in I can almost guarantee that is not what you will come out with!! You will be chosen and your heart will melt and bond with a kitty that you never expected. Go in with an open mind and come out with furry love galore!!!
Please share with us when you do adopt. We LOVE rescues!!!:D :D http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/o...es/biggrin.gif
