I use Frontline on Syl and Harley. Aside from Harley bringing fleas from the shelter (before he was on Frontline) they have been flea free. Our vet told us to put it in our dogs armpit, but I'm not sure why. We apply is about every two months or so, but if you use it for ticks too you should apply it about once a month.
Kim I don't use anything on the kitties since they never go outside. Since whatever might be on the dogs is killed right away and the cats don't go out we have never had a problem. I never saw a flea or tick on either Trevor or Andy. :)Quote:

We use Frontline on our dogs, and it works great. We also use it on our cats on the rare occasion that we see a flea. We don't have to use it regularly with the cats because they don't go outside.
At work they like Frontline the best as it gets fleas and ticks and has the growth inhibitor that makes them sterile so they can't reproduce. That's the Frontline Plus actually. Advantage is for fleas only as someone else said but it works great! Advantix is Advantage with the extra added for ticks/mosquitos but doesn't work as well. With all of them you are supposed to wait 2-3 days before and after a bath to put it on. Frontline is more waterproof than the others but I'd heard some say they put it on right after and bath and it still does fine. But the thing is is that it spreads over the body by the oils in the coat and if you wash them all off the pooch and then put it on it takes longer b/c of the oils being gone. Can you tell I've heard this explained to clients about 50 times a day. hehehe :D
I use frontline on Kia and the cats. The cats rarely go outside, but once in awhile, I'll take Zam out on a leash when Kia is napping.
Plus I don't want to risk bringing back a flea in on me!
I've never had a problem, so it works for us!
Frontline is the BEST!! We've used it on our dogs for almost 4 or 5 years now, and I don't think I ever saw a tick or flea on either of them again. I HIGHLY recommend it!:D
I asked the vet tech about it. She said she has never heard of it.. :o I'll have to try another vet.
Oooookay. That's weird.Quote:
