I'm sorry kim! Do you have an area in your yard where you bury your lost ones? It must've been awful. I highly doubt any creature in the animal kingdom can "force" an abortion on itself by sheer will power or pushing- if we could- it would happen so frequent that we would be more than well aware of it. Wolves absorb embryos but that's only when food supply is low or pack is too big and so there is not enough food to feed all the embryos she has; but that is not "purposeful" as we know the word- it's nature at work!
I do hope mom recups ok- I'm sure she must need some special nourishment (calcium and iron? I dunno) after the ordeal. Probably you too.

Oh how awful for you, Kim. :( Glad to hear mom is feeling ok though and it sounds like she won't have any lingering effects from the miscarriage.
Things always work out for the best, and I guess she just wasn't meant to have those kittens. :(
