Nice pictures!
I was in SLC Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I went to a Petsmart down on 105th South, and a Petco in Sugar House .... and I was thinking, "Hmmmmm ... wonder if this is where Wolf_Q works?" :D I was also thinking that I should have thought about telling you I was coming down, and we could have gotten together for lunch or something. Of course, this occurred to me in Layton.
Question for you: I heard someone say once that the water on one side of the causeway in the GSL is salty and the other side is fresh. Is that true??? I thought the whole lake was salty.
Great pictures! My parents have a tractor that looks just like the one in the picture. I'm not even sure that it works, I think it's just decoration. I think I may have a picture of it around somewhere.
Breathtaking pictures! I'm so jealous, it looks like you guys had so much *FUN*!! You live in such a beautiful area!
Amy, these are all such good pictures, the scenery is just unbelievable! Those pictures would make great post cards! The sky is so blue!
Nebo looked so handsome in his new outfit!
Thanks for posting these beautiful pictures!
Willie:)
Thanks everyone!! :D
Yes you should have told me! :p We were in SLC (mostly at the Gateway) on Monday. The Petco I work at is clear down in Utah County, I live in Pleasant Grove (near Orem/Provo) but I've been to the ones up there before. Next time you're coming this way, let me know. ;)Quote:

As far as the Great Salt Lake I don't know all that much but I believe that all of the lake is salty. Antelope Island is kinda near the bottom edge of the lake, so the Causeway to the island doesn't separate the lake. However, I've seen pics where there's a distinct line across the entire lake where part is darker colored. Maybe half is freshwater, that's possible or maybe half just has a higher salt concentration? I guess I should know these things, but I don't...that was only the 2nd time I've been to Antelope Island in my life. :o
nebo is such a cutie! i love seeing pics of him!:D

Well, I've never been to Antelope Island, so you're two times ahead of me.
Here's what I found, if you're interested, "Railroad tracks run across the lake; the solid causeway supporting them divides the lake in half. As all three rivers feeding the lake flow into the southern half, the northern half of the lake is now noticeably saltier than the south half."
And this is pretty neat, I had no idea this existed. Have you seen it? Spiral Jetty
Interesting! So both halves are salty, just one has a much higher salt concentration? That's what I thought, but wasn't sure. I didn't know that it was a railway that went across it.
I've known about the Spiral Jetty for a long time, I really want to see it! We talked to some guy at Antelope Island about it. I think he said it was about 92 miles from Antelope Island. There's different ways of seeing it, I know they have plane tours and I think you can reach it by driving too. Right now the lake levels are really low so it's visible, I suppose I should go see it soon before its under water again!
We need interesting things in FL.... stupid beaches!!:p
