Jen, I'm so sorry to hear about little Lilyana's passing.:( RIP sweetheart.
It has been 10 days since the kittens first showed cold symptoms and little orange Liam was still sneezing and congested so I took him in to the vet today.
He needs a few more days of antibiotics and I also got something that we can put in his nose to help him breathe (thank goodness).
I am also to supliment his nursing so he can catch up in size to his siblings.
Have you ever tried Zithromax for kittens? A few years ago I had a nine year old mama cat from an idiot nearby, and there were 7 kittens. They were about 5 weeks old when they started to get very sick with probable pneumonia. It was Sunday, of course  and I gave the one that was on his way out gasping and almost to the point of no return, a tiny chip of Zithromax. The others also, but within 12 hours the little guy was up and feeling back to normal! I have used it with great success with other tiny ones that start getting that terrible congestion. http://www.users.bigpond.com/drdavid/zithromax.htm Here's one site I've found a while back regarding Zithromax and kitties. The liquid is easier to use if you have a number of sick kitties, but the drawback is it's only good for 10 days. I keep a few tablets on hand for kitties here.
for zithromax!! that poor stray adult, Cheddar, that Jan took in was wheezy and after a week spiked a fever. She gave him a zithromax right away and by the next am, his fever and wheezing- GONE!!! Definately worth a try! My vet at the Feline Hospital has prescribed it recently for my Siamese who tested pos. for Bartenella (will stop his constant dental problems after all these years of extractions!). Give it a go and hang in there!!!
Oh Jen i'm so, so sorry that I didn't see this earlier on the passing of little Lilyana.
My deepest sympathies go out to you, as I know how hard you are trying your best to get all these little ones back to good health.
(((((HUGS))))) to you for support.
but how do you get that? I assume through a vet?
Zithromax is available through pharmacies. Maybe you could ask your vet to look over the website, or do some research on it. Mine just write a prescription out and hand it to me. I hope it helps you get the babies over the hurdle. I'm sorry to hear about your babies who didn't make it here. They are over the Bridge. :(Quote:

Liam is having a tough time :(:(:(
How much KMR do I need to get into him (at 6 oz., 3 weeks old) daily to keep him alive if he has stopped nursing??
Sending special prayers for Liam!! Hang in there sweetie!!
Poor poor dear little Liam. I hope very much this wee one can make it. {{HUGS}} for you, Jen
