Pet Cemetery Right Out Of Horror Show

Not to mention the injections that vets euthanise pets with is poisonous to wildlife that encounter and eat the remains. Birds have been known to die in masses to to such negligence, not to mention other scavengers. Here's another related story...hope everyone sues the crap out of these creeps!! LEE COUNTY— NBC2 has uncovered new allegations against Florida's largest pet burial company, Jancy Pet Burial Service. Many people have wondered about the company's cremation service. Pet owner Kathleen Ford revealed Jancy cremated her beloved cat, but when she got the ashes back she found something else.

NBC2's pictures of animals at Jancy's group burial grounds brought back a horrifying memory for Kathleen Ford of Fort Myers. Her beloved cat Garrett passed away two years ago and she sent his body to Jancy's to be cremated.

"I took him out of the bag and noticed there was something metal inside the bag. It was a tag that said canine dog. It was a dog tag," said Ford.

NBC2: You got a dog tag back?
Ford: Yes
NBC2: But you sent your cat up to Jancy?
Ford: Correct

Jancy's sent a letter of apology, saying they were extremely sorry ford found foreign materials in her cremains. It also refunded her money.

After NBC2 uncovered how Jancy treated so many other animals, Ford wonders about the seven other animals she had cremated.

"Now I wonder whether the other ones sitting in the china cabinet are actually our animals," said Ford.

Late Friday, a commissioner in Orange County, where Jancy's is located, said he will crack down on Jancy.

"We're going to make sure it is handled right from now on," said Bob Sindler, Orange County Commissioner.

The story has also attracted the attention of State Senator Dave Aronberg. He saw NBC2's investigation and is researching ways for the state to start regulating the pet burial industry.

About our "local" pet cemetary which aint so local- they get business from the whole state I believe because there are so few. I have 3 cremated cats from them- I always figured it was a mix of pets i got after our friend Renny said she paid an extra hundred to have just her Zsa in one container. They never offered it to me- that's why I'm now a bit nervous! Maybe my cats got thrown in dumpsters and what's in the containers is God Knows What!

I've already found a place that will do cremations for when the time comes. Our local pound charges a little over $100 for private cremations and I think $20 or so for general cremations. The difference, I have no idea but if having a private one done means having JUST my animal's remains, then I'd definately pay for that.

The local animal control offers a similar service and are actually quite reputable. They even have nice headstones and you can get a plot there too the place is kind of like a pet memorial park...quite lovely....I see how well just a local animal control does and then I see stories like this where people are just con artists...

I wish there were more decient people in this world.....

I've had many come and go as I do rescuing. I've been hit with the virus from hell several times (panleukopenia) and lost enough to break my heart, but I go on for the ones still out there. I am not in the financial state to cremate all my losses, but I've had a special rescued border collie, and my special needs rescued kitty cremated. I specified for Willy (the kitty) private cremation, but for all those opting for 'other'...well enough said. :confused: Even now I have to wonder. I prefer burial in my yard, but space is limited. :(

wow thats just about the sickest thing a company can do to make money. All of our pets that pass away we bury in our backyard. Don't have to deal with that kinda BS is it really too hard for these people to bury an animal right or cremate right. Not like its hard or time takeing makes me wonder about other companys like that.

Whats sad is Ive heard of places doing that with people too!:eek: My grandfather reciently passed away and the thought that we might have gotten someone elses ashes *or even none at all* sickens me. I saw on Nightline *I think* of a place that stacked bodies like that....I think that was mentioned erlier in this post somewhere....cause the equipment broke and they didnt want to fork the $$ to replace it :(

What were these people THINKING?!?! That is the most sickening story I have ever read! These people were just plain greedy. Thsy had ZERO feelings for that poor dog owner. I hope his pet is playing over the RB!

I hope all of those pets are happy at the RB David P.......

RIP guys knowing that your people really DO care about you, else they wouldn't have been so upset.

This is INFURIATING!! :mad: It's sick and disgusting and I'd hate to meet a person who could do that to an animal. Hopefully once they clean the place up the pets can finally RIP, knowing that someone does really care.

I too, remember seeing that cemetary on the news where they were piling up those bodies with no thought of the families nor respect of the dead. I was disgusted by that, and am just as disgusted right now about this Jancy Pet Cemetary! Evidently these people are without conscience! And as some of you said, they are just greedy-greedy and heartless. :mad:

To those of you that has had your your pet done this way, my heart goes out to you, and I have hopes that your pet will finally rest in peace.

It's my wish that all these poor animals that are "buried" here are having a beautiful time over the Rainbow Bridge!
