I've already found a place that will do cremations for when the time comes. Our local pound charges a little over $100 for private cremations and I think $20 or so for general cremations. The difference, I have no idea but if having a private one done means having JUST my animal's remains, then I'd definately pay for that.
I've had many come and go as I do rescuing. I've been hit with the virus from hell several times (panleukopenia) and lost enough to break my heart, but I go on for the ones still out there. I am not in the financial state to cremate all my losses, but I've had a special rescued border collie, and my special needs rescued kitty cremated. I specified for Willy (the kitty) private cremation, but for all those opting for 'other'...well enough said. Even now I have to wonder. I prefer burial in my yard, but space is limited. :(
