Yes, the Gentle Leader is thinner and is probably what I should have bought. It just looks more comfortable than the Halti, but when I went they didn't have a GL in Bella's size. They don't hurt at all. They work because as the dog pulls and tugs (as Bella has been known to do when she gets excited on walks) it causes her head to go down. The ring where you clip the leash on is on the bottom, thus the downward pull of the head. I was a little concerned the first time I used it because I didn't want her neck getting hurt. We practiced a little in the house and by the time I took her outside and we walked to the end of my driveway she "got with the program." Bella says, "it's no fun to pull if you can't see where you are going." :)
Here is Bella modeling her Halti. (Excuse the bad hair day - she was due for a grooming). I had this on her at an event where she was going to meet two rhodesian ridgbacks for the first time. After I felt secure enough that I could let her off leash the Halti came off much to her relief!

Kay, I'm glad you, Val and all the others had such a great time
together! Thanks for putting the pics on for all of us to enjoy.
I loved the "don't feed the animals" sign picture!
It's always fun to see the photos of Simba and Duke! He was SO excited when Val told him where they were going. I could hardly keep him from jumping into the back of the wagon when I took him on a potty walk and when we returned, he DID jump in!
Looking forward to more pics in the future!
