Well from what i understand too, when you tie a dog up all the time that could make them more aggressive than if you didn't.
I also wonder if the dog ever had food....it ate the scalp so it might have been hungry too...hmm...just a thought...poor lil girl and doggy
Was the dog really shot several times?? Pit bull or no, that strikes me as odd that the dog managed to get into it's dog house *after being shot apperantly* and still had to be shot by the sherif. And, I wonder how the scalp was intact enough to reattach, it being in a stomach and all...

He may have only been using a pellet or bb gun to shoot the dog to begin with, I can't remember if the article says. But, I've heard of dogs being shot a couple of times and living....I guess it depends on where the dog was shot, too. And, as for the scalp, it doesn't surprise me at all that it was intact. My dog only weighs 30 pounds and can almost swallow a chicken leg quarter whole. You have to give them something about the size of their head in order for them to actually chew it, unless they're a delicate or slow eater. If not, it just goes straight down their throat, and, digestion doesn't start in the mouth like it does for us. It starts in the stomach. So, it makes sense that if they got to the dog before the scalp was digested at all, that they could save and reattach it. I wonder how the little girl is doing now. And, what, if anything, will happen to the mother.
Thanx for the info Guster Girl, I apreicate it!
I wonder too about the little girl and the mother...will she be charged with neglect? I heard in some cases if a parents dog attacks their kid, they can be prosicuted criminally...I hope the girl is ok though!! I wonder what (if anything) might have provoked the dog? I'm glad they saved her scalp though....that seems like a complex surgery. Did it seem as if the dog was trained to be in fights? I'm just curious. I did a speech on dogfighting in school and did some research on related pit bull atacks and am always after info about this subject because it's unclear *according to some people* weather or not fight trained dogs will attack someone unprovoked...especially a child.
