This will give you more information than I ever wanted about the camel spiders.
Well, this is a PET site - but YUCK!
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!
YES, that is a real photo - But look closely. The man in the photo is golding it out on pliers, making it look much larger than it is. Camel Spiders are quite small - They MAX at a 5" or 6" legspan. They have absolutely no venom, or acid (I heard THAT piece of bull somewhere), and they do NOT actually eat through camel's stomachs. Why people believe these things is beyond me.
It looks like the bottom "spider" is actually a moult from the top spider...which would explain why it is so perfectly stretched out.
They're fascinating little critters, harmless, but FAST!
Thanks so much WolfChan. I'm really glad you cleared that up because I just read some stuff on the link gini posted that scared me!
Urrrrrrrrgh!!!
5 inches is still big for me!
I am terrified of spiders and if I saw one of those for real, you wouldn't need depends, you'd need an AMBULANCE!

" Huggable" is not a word I would use for this critter.:D
"Interesting" maybe, but that's about it. LOL.:D
OMG. That is simply HIDEOUS. I looked for about 1 second - and that was tooooooo long.
What horrid things. Harmless or not, I'm sorry, they are still horrid.
