Piper is so cute! I'll bet he wonders why his new friend won't groom him back. I used to have a rabbit named Nibbles. Piper reminds me a lot of him.

Any chance of getting Piper a real buddy soon? ;) Your bunny sure looks happy to see someone that looks like her! :D
AWWWWWWWWWW those are the CUTEST pics!!!! Piper, what a great new friend! Hopefully one of these days your mommy can get you a *real* bunny friend! :D ;)
Piper is very cute, but I am very concerned about the electrical cords right behind him. They should always be covered or tucked completely out of the way. They pose a grave danger to rabbits. "He never eats them" is not a valid excuse, either - there is always a first time for everything.
Piper is never left unsupervised when he's outside of the cage.
The (unplugged) wire in the first pic belongs to my hairdryer which I failed to put up after use.
The wire in the second pic belongs to my floor lamp and is the only one that is not bunny proofed. However, I was sitting within arm's reach, fully capable of intervening.
Thank you for your concern,
Zippy-kat
Well it's clear someone was right there, I mean a camera couldn't operate itself. ;) However, bunnies and electrical currents can be rather quick. I speak from personal experience.Quote:

A few years ago, our mini-lop was out and about and got ahold of a lamp cord that we did not know had been plugged into the wall. (We always left it unplugged. Company was over and they had so thoughtfully plugged it in for us. ) Anyway, in a room of FOUR adults, Bunny got a good jolt. Scared the crud out of us. Luckily he was OK and totally recovered. We were very lucky.
I'm just saying, you can never be too careful. This happened to us on a Saturday night, no vet was available, it was really scary.
All of our cords are now covered in thick plastic tubing, even the ones tucked away.
I just don't want any other bunnies to get hurt. :)
I agree you can never be too careful and it was thoughtless of me seeing how Piper tends to have a fetish for electrical cords, but he was honestly too interested in his new friend to care about it. :)
Glad that your bunners ended up being OK -- bet that was scary!
Adorable pics, Zip!! Piper is the cutest!!
Speaking of electic cords and bunnies, this is today's For Better or For Worse Cartoon....I didn't find it particularly "cute" or "funny"...especially when he didn't learn the first time :(

First off welcome Bunnymom but I think you are preaching to the choir. Piper is not Tonya's first bunny and she is a wonderful bunny mom as I know you are too. But maybe you should address your concerns to this thread. :( B/c I don't find it funny at all.

IMHO
Thanks Cookiebaker and Shais_Mom!
Re: the cartoon...
Is that a re-print of an old one? I thought they had the little bun pts because they found cancer. :(

BunnyMum welcome..........and I hope you get to know everyone here well. It is difficult when you are new to a forum and don't have the history that goes with each person.
Our Zippy is BunnyMom Extraordinaire...............and we are all pretty fond of her. Fond of her because we know what a great Mom she has been to Mz Sophie (Rainbow Bridge) and now Mr. Piper if you please:D
Also, thanks for the information that For Better or Worse has a brand new bunny. I didn't know that and I lost track of the cartoon after Mr. B was pts.
BunnyMum, do you have any pictures of your bunsters that you could share?
We love pictures!
I posted my pics in the correct thread - it's around here somewhere. Right now I have 2 bonded girls, Chloe and Rebekkah. :D
I did not intend to preach to anyone and sorry if I came off as snooty to the board know-it-all. I saw a photo of a rabbit sitting very near a plugged in electrical cord and I responded.
There are many bunny owners who unfortunately don't have the first clue. :(
My pics are in this thread: http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthre...5&pagenumber=2
No one has responded yet. :p
Aww! That's too cute for words!
