You think you're treated like a criminal? Try being a snake owner! *grumble* I MUST be a scary horrid person who would let my "icky" pets run amok around the apartments.

Thank god for MINTO!! Minto allows pets in their apt. & the ir town houses!! Thats why I'm looking into renting from Minto.
but that $50.00 idea sounded good, it might be super easier to go with that idea.
My old apartment was an extra $100 a month plus $500 deposit per pet. At the time, I had one cat, 2 bearded dragons, and 3 snakes...I'm embarrassed to say, but I was dishonest. I told them I didn't have pets. Then, when it came time to move out, she came into the apartment with this high tech pet pee detecter. I about had a heart attack. lol. Raven was a kitten and that was the home I'd litter box trainer her in... Anyways, she searched for pee with her gadget in every room for an hour and nothing came up. whew! I was in a panic. lol.
I have to add...I lost a 5 foot long snake in that apartment. Raven had figured out how to open his cage. It never did turn up. lol. I thought I'd find it hybernating somewhere when I moved, but I didn't. All though I love snakes, I would have a cow if this strange snake showed up through my plumbing or something. hehe.
Hey Zippy,
How's it going on the apartment hunting? Hope you've had
some better luck.:) Do you have a certain "time frame" you
have to work with? Good luck in finding something that you like.

To sum it up... s l o w. :(
I'm pretty flexible as far as time frame goes but the j-o-b situation pretty much sucks. Here, I can't find anything temporary to pass the time -- in the other city, I can find a job, just can't find housing. I did try commuting but with a 2hr drive each way (and a one hr time difference)... plus the gas & wear/tear on the car, it wasn't worth the pay. I was getting up at 3.30am and getting home at 6.30pm; with the onset of classes (which start at 5.00pm) it just wasn't feasible.
I'm (half-heartedly) considering staying here until I finish my masters (another yr and a half-ish). Don't want to but looks like it might be my only other option at this point.
I did apply for a position (here) on Friday but have yet to hear anything back. Maybe it will pan out...
Thanks for asking!! :)
If you are working on your Master's degree maybe you can get some kind of teaching or research assistantship from the University??
