update on my Uncle with stomach cancer

Naomi, prayers are on the way for your Uncle. It is good to hear that he is stable now and resting comfortably.

This morning, Nathan went to see him. Apparently Eddie can't talk or speak today. I don't know why, but my *guess* it's because of the infection throughout his body. But when he saw Nathan, he tried to get up, which in itself is a bit of a miracle. Ed's son said that he hadn't tried to get up yet.

Keep praying for him. The doctors are now saying he might not make it through the end of the day. I might even be going over there too later on, so I might not be able to update anyone. We'll see what happens.

I went to see him, and I'm so glad I had the chance. I think he knew I was there when I arrived, but I don't think he knew we left. He was deteriorating that fast. He passed away on the 31st at about 12:30am. My aunt is holding up, but it's so hard. Right now she's surrounded in family, which is great. I will be going back to Vancouver on Tuesday to be with her and my family, and the memorial is on Friday.

Thanks for all the prayers. God must have heard them, because Eddie didn't suffer.

I forgot to mention.. it wasn't stomach cancer. He had cancer in his esophagus. It's just that the tumour was so large that it was pushing against his stomach and closing in on his esophagus, making it hard for him to eat. I just didn't want to lead anyone astray on the facts

Naomi I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle. I know what it's like to lose a loved one from cancer, I lost one of my aunts a few years ago from it but unlike you I never got to say goodbye. I'll be sure to keep you and your family in my thoughts.

I am glad Uncle Eddie did not suffer, that was a real blessing, but so sad to hear he lost his battle.

I'm sorry to hear this Naomi. It's a terrible thing to watch someone dying of cancer and it can go on for such a very long time. Your uncle's suffering is over now.
