We were going to buy a shar-pei instead of a sheltie at one point...I read somewhere that you have to give the wrinkles extra attention and clean between..can you imagine cleaning each little wrinkle? lol
I voted for the siberian husky.
I agree with Crikit, but I voted anyway.
I voted for Shar Pei, although I'd opt for a Shar Pei mix. I was fortunate enough to be blessed with having a wonderful relationship with a Shar Pei mix who completely stole my heart. I tear up just thinking about the wonderful boy.
That's exactly what I was going to say :)Quote:

But I highly suggest either a breed rescue or the pound when you do decide. You'd save a life and get the dog that you want to boot.
Just to let everyone know, I don't believe that there is a kill shelter in B.C. I know that our Spca only puts down animals with expensive medical problems and such. But my mom said that she saw on the news that they aren't killing animals generally anymore
This is indeed a step in the right direction!
I think it is happening here in NZ as well, I often see animals advertised in the free paper at the S.P.C.A that have been there for a few months, usually they would have been put to sleep long before that, so lets hope this is becoming a worldwide change. YEAH!!!!!!!!!:)
HI,
I relly cant decide between Siberian Husky or the Australian Shepherd. Because if you would be the type of owner who has a large fielk or backyard or mabey live on a farm. Also would be there every single solitary day to train and groom and excercise your dog, well then the dog that I would go with is Australian Shepherd because they need alot of space and excercise!
This also applays to Huskies its just that they dont need as much excercise as Australian Shepherds!
Hope I could be of some help, if you have any more questions PM me.:)
Whenever someone asks me what kind of a dog they should get, I always respond by asking a series of pertinent questions to determine which kind of breed would best suit their lifestyle. Such as, how big/small is your apartment/house; do you have a fenced in yard; do you work regular/irregular hours; how many hours per week can you devote to walking/exercising a dog; do you want a dog primarily as a companion, or also as a guard or watch dog; how much time are you willing/able to spend grooming your dog; do you have small children in the home; do you have other pets, such as cats; does anyone in your household have allergies; what kind of activities do you want to be able to share with your dog, e.g. jogging? biking? shopping? etc etc.
Thats a good way so then you can match the perfect dog w/ hte perfect owner?
ok I have a medium yard, have time too groom and ecxcersize, have other dogs and children around often, along with other pets, I dont work right now looking for employment, now help me choose a breed lol the ones I posted are my favorets and that I most like that would suit my lifestyle.
My friend had a SharPei..... what ever you spell that sorry but I am in a hurry. HE got so big that they had to give him away! BTW his name was rocky!
After meeting Nebo and Roxey I have fallen in love with Huskeys, so I am planning on getting one in the future.:D ;)
Cool! :D :)
Someday, I plan on buying a farm house. When that happens, I would love to have a Shar-pei. They are beautiful, maybe a lot of work, but I would love to have one! :)
