Neat thread! I love all the stories and pics! :D
My first dog, Muffy, passed away in 2000. She was with me for 13 years, we got her when I was 3. She was like a sister to me, it was devastating losing her. It was a long time before the thought of getting another dog even crossed my mind.
A couple years after Muffy's passing I really started to miss having a dog around the house. I worked with a lady who also worked at the HS and she introducted me to Pet Finder (she also introduced me to DOTD :D) and I saw Ruby and had to meet her. I met her, fell in love, and now she's home with me. She hasn't even been here for a year yet, but I love my little girl. The past few months have been difficult & she's always with me. Since I graduated from High School I really don't see my friends that much anymore so I spend a lot of time with Ruby. She just great! Lol. She's such a goon, she can always make me happy, she's just the best :D

I have had dogs since I was really little but I have never bonded with them as much as I have with my baby girl, Precious. She has been with me since I was 6 years old and I am now 13, going to be 14 this year. We used to have her mom, Bitsy, and when Bitsy had puppies my mom had to keep one. Well, Precious is the one we kept and she ended up becoming "My" dog. She has been with me through the thick and thin. She's been my shoulder to cry on and someone to love and hug when I need it most. She always cheers me up when I look at her adorable face. She is like my child and my best friend. I would just die if anything happend to her. We have such a great bond that she barks and whines when I'm away from her. Everywhere I go, she follows me. It doesn't matter if I just go to a different room, she's right there behind me. I love her very, very much and would do anything for her as she has for me. :D
Here's a picture and Precious and I. My mom just now took it because I don't have any pictures of her and I togeather. I'm usually the one that's taking all the pictures of my cute little girl. That's why I'm never really in them. :) Well, It's not exactly the greatest picture ever of me. My face is red because I just got back from the beach and I got sun burnt. :-\

This is Daisy and I (sorry if the pic looks a little blurry). I got Daisy in 1997 from my best friend. She was moving to an apartment which didn't allow dogs. Her little sister was heartbroken to give Daisy away, so Beth asked me if I wanted her. This way, Beth's little sister could still see her.
I begged my dad for Daisy. We had a beagle, Jed, previously about 7 or 8 years ago but had to give him away b/c he was very wild and chewed up everything. My dad was kind of reluctant b/c of his previous experience with Jed. But after pleading that we would take care of Daisy, my dad finally let us have her. :D
That was about 6 years ago. Now, we can say Daisy is an irreplaceable part of our family :) My dad loves Daisy, calling her his 'buddy'. He treats her like a queen, as does the rest of us. We are so glad that we did get Daisy, she is a gift in herself. She knows when you are sad, she knows when you are happy. She mainly lies around like a typical hound, but she has the heart of gold. She's got everyone wrapped around her fing- I mean paw! We wouldn't know what we would do without her. She's just as sweet as sugar :D
