Lab/Boxer Mix Too
Congratulations on the newest member of your family. I too have a lab/boxer mix. Josephine is only 10 months and quite the handful as she has the dominant traits of both breeds.
I believe both breeds to be very smart though and I doubt you will have any trouble teaching Chubby new tricks. Josephine learned a lot of tricks including "show belly" where she rolls onto her back, rolling over on command, "sneak" where she crawls from a laying down position, and hide and seek - I hide a dog treat while she isn't looking then let her smell my hands and tell her to "seek" she runs the house with her nose going wild until she finds the treat.

I beleive you can teach any dog a new trick, sometimes it takes longer with older dogs though. depends on your willingness and the dogs willingness!:)

Chubby looks so loveable! It makes me wish I could get another dog. I only have one because I'm gone very often and my husband has to take Jake in and out while I'm gone. He doesn't want another one so I have to respect his wishes. But if I ever get a position that doesn't involve so much travel, I'm going to get at least one more!!
I want a Shepherd mix.

Ah, what a cutie! I can't wait to see more pics of him in the future!
I can't tell you about teaching him tricks, but I don't see why his age will stop you from doing that. I think it would depend on the dog and their temperment, but not on the age! That's just my opinion though!

chubby is gettin along quite well here, and is adapting great with the cats!!! he is such a wonderful dog, gonna try to teach him to sit soon... ill have more pics up!! :)

I cant wait to see more pics. You have an adorable dog. YES of course you can teach an old dog new tricks...and Yes it might be a little harder for him to catch on/ learn it. GOOD LUCK!
